  1. Better than crawling with a live skunk .
  2. Blakemore C.C. spinner . I use to wear them out .I've had the blade wear through on a couple and a couple more the arm break from using them so much. I havent tossed one in years .
  3. Its a Cotton Cordell walley Diver
  4. The way the lip is attached it looks like a Rebel .
  5. Fishing a huge bait in strong current from bank is darn near impossible to keep in place. I look for a deep eddy to drop the bait into or fish close to shore.
  6. Looks like I'll have to try it minus the spinning gear .
  7. I only drink when fishing buzzbaits , its part of the strategy .
  8. I didnt know carp were responsible for wiping out Indian tribes .
  9. I still camp and fish alone . I like it .
  10. Three guys beat me up and robbed me . I wasnt fishing but camping alone . Back in the 70's when I was a teenager .
  11. You've seen carp beating up bass ?
  12. I have dove in twice for rods when bass hit the dangling lure . Saved the rod both times. My uncle laid his rod down to help me get unsnagged . When he got back his rod was missing .
  13. Even if the fish are not biting taking the time to enjoy the Ospreys and Eagles make it worthwhile . On your first post , on days where the fish keep comnig unbuttoned . I make small changes like color , different brand , size... to see if it helps. Sometimes I get it right and other times not. I have finally settled in on a crankbait rod . 7 foot med action .
  14. Tournament time , do you prefer an easy bite where everyone is catching and a heavy bag is needed to finish at the top or would rather see tough conditions where everyone struggles and a small bag can win it ? I seemed to place higher on those tough days . Windy , muddy ...
  15. If all these forumites were fishing a tournament against each other there would only be one winner. Sometimes it takes a lot of weight to win and sometimes scratching out a limit wins.
  16. Learn to backhand cast .
  17. Baby Brush Hogs I have used and they work as well as other soft plastics. I also like pork best . As far as plastics I just use whatever. Black Mister Twister double tails have worked real well .
  18. I like almost all soft plastics and often just use whatever tickles my fancy .The two that I have caught the most on are Mann's 6 inch Jelly worms and the old BPS Squirmin Lizard. The old Squimin Lizard I like to use when bites are light because it is shiny and smooth and shows teeth marks well . The Guido bug is another one that shows teeth marks well .
  19. Pitching for smallmouths works well. If I'm in smallmouth waters plastic craws are what i usually use .
  20. When a local reservoir was new, bridges were a good place to get into some action. Pop R's , medium diving cranks and lipless cranks got used a lot. Fishing pressure took its toll and now they are not very productive .I just drive past them these days . There are always boats there , mostly crappie fishermen .
  21. Fishing in Ohio is not the same as in the south. Thats a good limit. I'm real proud of my top five and had a fantastic case of bass thumb .
  22. I dont want the groove touching the eye , thats why I tie it there .
  23. I just googled Pico Pop and see they are back in business .
  24. I had it . Just picking up a cup of coffee was painful . The forearm brace helped me a lot . Now I always cast naturally no twisting of the elbow. On an overhead cast the thumb will be at the ten o'clock position . I never bend my joints to the extreme repeatedly. I'm also an avid bowler and after four decades had to relearn how to bowl naturally and not twist that elbow .
