Sounds like you have an Arbogast Mud Bug. They are good . I've caught several lunkers on them .

The less time a bass has to look at a lure will "sometimes" get more bites . Its not always slowing down with finesse baits .

Yes I have stocked up on Bomber Prop A,s when they were discontinued. I use to fish the Mississippi river a bit and a chartreuse Bomber flat A out fished everything else I tried by so much that I bought six just for the big river . If I could find some Rogers Big Jims I would buy a dozen right now.

You mentioned a beaver. I never pass up a beaver house without hitting it with a texas rigged plastic worm. Texas rig it . Bury the hook and go slow with a light weight .

Anew technique for me anyhow , I added a small spinner blade to the hook of a ball head jig and bite the tail off a grub. This is a heavy current lure and i have caught lots of different species including bass on it .

I have Shimano Curados , a B.P S. Pro Qualifier , and Diawa Lexus rigged and in the boat. I have a new Quantum Kinetic and several round Abus ready to fish . I also have two Quantum 1310 MG's mounted on flipping rods for going after carp and cats .

My expierence with braid " this was long ago " is they dont cast as far as mono. Water gets inside the strands and it sprays out on the guides , slowing it down , when cast. Maybe they have fixed that . I did not like the stuff and after sliceing my index finger several times on hooksets ,I swore off it. I'm set in the style i fish and would have to change the way I hold a rod if I were to use braid .

Unless the trolling motor operator is paralleling the bank the back angler should have plenty of opportunities to boat fish. Sometimes even have an advantage, for instance fishing open water on windy days. Sometimes the front angler has to parallel the banks to maximize the catch . I won two club tournament from the back and have had co anglers win from the back. Just choose the lures and presentations that will work the best . Theres too many to list .

I never understood "so called bass anglers" following other bass anglers to find good spots. Part of the sport is finding your own fish . If you cant do that then you need to try harder .

Some hooks cant be used to skin hook , Study your hooks .

Weightless worm . I'd use a heavy hook to add weight .

I've removed the claws before , usually when I'm not anythng . Dont know if it helped any . I have some Riverside Big Claws that I usually remove the pincers because they are pretty large .

Make sure the baits run straight. Try rattleless if you havent already dome so .Try lures that dont have a lot of action. The Rapala FatRap is a great numbers bait for down to about 6 foot .

Ive had two bass boats. Now I have a 22 foot Lowe deck boat because my wife wanted a boat for her to be comfy in. It fishes better than I expected. It actually has the same hull as 22 foot bay boats they make . I added an 80 thrust elec motor to it. I also fish out of a 14 foot flat bottom john boat , a plastic bass Baby and a canoe. I would like to get a nice yak too. I catch a lot of bass in those smaller waters .

Texas rig for me. I also have a highly detailed map of Mark Twain , made when they were doing a study . It shows every building , out building , fence... It's about 40 pages and I had to color each page in with a highlihhter .

Actually , I like the rod shorter , 6'0" , for topwater walking/twitching type baits .

I use octopus hooks most. I like to use a heavy weight and tight line. Use two or three pieces of whole kernel corn and place the rod in a holder that will keep the outfit secure. Just sit back and let the carp hook themselves. They will feel the weight and bolt. The octopus hook will get them most of the time .

I've been skunked a bunch of times. Usually my plan A and plan B falls apart and I end up running around .
