  1. My catfishing would be a lot poorer without a depth finder .
  2. Heres my Eagle mounted on an old trolling motor. Just clamp it on . Whats funny about that pic is that its very similar to my avatar pic taken 40 years ago .Look at how I m holding the stringers . LOL
  3. Deep little N and Fat Free Shad .
  4. I gutted a bow mount trolling motor and put an old depth finder on it with the transducer at the bottom of the shaft. Works perfect , just connect it to the battery .
  5. Carolina rigging with heavy weight and leader is a deep water search tactic for me.It covers deep water quickly Bites are hard to detect , sure , but I use it on points and large flats that dont have a lot of brush and set the hook when I feel something. My number one bait for the rig is a Zoom lizard. A Zoom lizard is very shiny and smooth . If a bass hits a Zoom Lizard , the teeth marks are very easy to see . You see teeth marks , you missed fish.
  6. Yes , I love them. especially the old ones without rattles. Perch is my favorite and I lost my last one a couple of weeks back throwing it from bank and letting it sink. I knew better than to use it but it was working so well .
  7. I need to buy a gripper so it doesnt happen to me. Its just a matter of time. Wonder what the best ones are ?
  8. A 1/4 ounce spinnerbait and a single #4 willowleaf blade. As a matter of "guess" that may be the only spinnerbait I will ever need .
  9. I dont use large lures.because I have never caught fish on them. I've tried Striper lures and a Musky jitterbug with zero success .I'm guessing the biggest I;ve caught fish on was the Blakemore C.C. Spinner .
  10. My favorite Square bill by far is the old Rogers Big Jim. The last three years I have caught hundreds of bass off them .
  11. LOL that is odd. I once lassoed a crappie . The hook went around it and snagged the line and pulled tight .
  12. Several times when I wasnt catching fish like I thought I should. Slowing down , just made it worse. Sometimes the bass dont bite because they are getting to good a look at the fake bait. Speeding up was the answer . Dont let the fish study the offering .
  13. So you getbthe baits at BPS and the jig heads at Cabelas.

Ive used the Cordell gay Blade successfully in the summer months . Hopping it in deep water like a worm .
  15. Before Mark Twain was formed I fished Thomas hill a lot. Its a good lake .
  16. Texas rig and crankbait .
  17. My grandpa had a magic bobber. It would jiggle . Mine just sat there . LOL
  18. I like XL and Suffix Elite .
  19. I'm pretty much self taught . Before I was a Bass fisherman I was a kid who just fished all the time. I read a lot of magazines. The one pro who I identify the most with is Rick Clunn.
  20. I have caught several big flatheads at Thomas Hill Reservoir on bass lures . Mark Twain Lake and Hunnewell lake it is common and often catch more than 1 a day . Sometimes several .
  21. Caught this on a grub. I dont know how much it weighed .
  22. If you get good with a texas rig all other techniques will be easy .
  23. I was fishing above a wing dam in the mississippi river about thirty years ago. I was anchored and threw a Manns shallow Razorback Pig . I got the lure right on top of the dike and just held it there letting the current do the work for me.Three channel cats , a walleye and bunches of white bass fell for it .
