Theres been a lot of classics won with spinnerbaits and im trying to compile a list of the ones that won. I think Clunn used a Fleck Weed Wader. Parker used one that later became the Manns Classic. Im thinking that a Zorro Agravatar was used by Bobby Murray. Murray also used a spinner in front of a spoon. What are the others that have won the sports biggest event?

Yes , creme made pre rigged worms with a propeller spinner in front. I can only remember red ones. I bought them at a neighborhood grocery store with money I got from bottle deposits .It was the only lure they sold LOL . I used them for bank fishing in ponds . Your rigs look good .

Im not claiming to have invented the carolina rig . LOL. Forget the pros name but he won a Classic on a Carolina rig with a worm and prerigged hooks. Manns use to sell a "Do Nothing" worm with two hooks in it. We stuck straight pins through them to act as weed guards . After experimenting with those baits I just didnt like them . I started using traditional worms especially lizards with the hook buried like a Texas rig. Later it became popular on the bass tour. The non boaters were using it to win and the pros picked it up from them. I use carolina rigs for catfish , using a floating jig head tipped with a small shad and work it through fish that are found with a depth finder but thats for a different forum. I bet most of us on this forum have tricks that work that the rest of the fishing world hasnt picked up yet. All it takes is a tourney win to let the cat out of the bag .

I started Carolina rigging plastic lizards two years before they became popular on the tournament trail. I was even using the brown with chartreuse tails that became all the rage.

Best lure I have used is the Riverside Top Gun. The Yum Swurm is very similar. Use weightless with a heavy hook to aid in casting and it will go through the slimiest of moss . Ive never tried it but an internal weight may work real well.

Especially fishing in waters with heavy pressure , If I'm not catching fish I change often. I know that the places I'm fishing have bass that are seeing my lures. Only a small percentage actually hit it. I'll change lures , brands , retrieves , actions and "colors" . Sometimes I get it right sometimes I dont .

I have been catfishing late at night with the transom light on. Baitfish are attracted to it and every once in a while something will hit them .

They are so effective ten year olds catch a lot of fish with them.

Yes. I go to the X-Rap when the crankbait bite isnt what I think it should be. Sometimes bass are just not very aggressive .

Another vote for lizard. I dont buy into the theory that salamanders raid bass nest and eat the eggs. That would be suicide.

When I run into situations where the bass study the lure, they usually dont hit it . My first plan is to then not give them time to study and use a fast moving lure. A large grub rigged Texas style and fished like a buzzbait is something that has worked for me a few times .

I like to night fish. It usually takes a couple of hours after complete darkness for the bite to get hot. Black buzzbaits are my favorite lure and I prefer moonlit nights .

I once sprayed a worm with Riverside Real Craw . Was fishing in 15 foot of water , got a pickup and slowly reeled the keeper sized bass to the surface, never setting the hook. Maybe the bass would have held on even if I had not used the scent , I will never know.

Same thing happened to my wife on antibiotics , only she was burned on her shoulders and legs. She couldnt even sleep at night because her skin was "crawling" .
