  1. Really? Their website shows $89 like the Mojo. Thanks for the heads up. I'll be calling tomorrow!
  2. Where did you get an Adrena for $150? That is a $400 rod Shimano made with Jackall!
  3. If you don't mind the neoprene handle of the Rage I would suggest that for you. Otherwise, the Mojo is really good at the $89 price. The Rage even more so IMHO.
  4. Seagaur Smackdown is my top choice for what you are doing. After having used PP, Sunline FX, and Suffix (Performance & 832) I feel that I get the best overall performance with the Smackdown. I would go with the 50#. Just my $0.02.
  5. The Tatula rods are sleepers! I admittedly don't use mine too much, but it is more because I have it as my dedicated spinnerbait/chatterbait rod (7' Med/Mod). I am not a fan of throwing spinnerbaits/chatterbaits that much anymore, but the weather conditions and season called for it. It is a great performer, and at the end of the day when I was putting away my gear I said I would have to get another (probably the 7'2" H/F).
  6. I would suggest the Daiwa Tatula line of rods for this reel.
  7. PM Twilight Chartreuse back
  8. I have had this happen to me on the Booyah spinnerbaits that are sold exclusively through Dick's Sporting Goods.
  9. Pfleuger President, and any ML/F rod that fits your budget. That's all you need.
  10. I never use "waterproof" boxes because of the risk of thins rusting. I prefer the boxes with the drainage holes so air can circulate. Any boxes that I get without holes meets the business end of the drill bit.
  11. There's always good fish in East Harbor!
  12. I just fished it yesterday. It was raining all day long, and the fishing was pretty tough. There are some really heavy mats on the western side closer to the dam that I was able to pull some fish from. I had to use a 1.5oz punch weight to get through it. Otherwise along the old road beds are long stretches of weed beds you can flip a beaver style bait into. (suggest adding some orange to the tips) Also, a white buzzbait worked for a good part of the morning.
  13. If you are unsure about finesse jigs then I would recommend you start out with the Strike King Bitsy Jig. They are usually available for under $2.50, but some stores will sell them for $1.99. Try them out and decide for yourself!
  14. I typically use water depth and wind as my determining factors for size of weight to use.
  15. I will say that indirectly, yes, it has. For me it came down to a line management issue. With the 6# FC main line I was having issues with the line coiling up badly during the cast. I tried everything from KVD L&L conditioner to letting out 20 yards of line behind the boat. I would still get line twist pretty quickly again. This might be because I'm using my dropshot on Lake Erie in 20+ FOW. Either way since going to braid I have eliminated all line twist. Since I am also fishing this vertically I don't have to worry about slack line issues with braid. Economically it also makes sense. Braid will last for several years, and FC I was changing out at least twice a year.
  16. I started off using straight 6# FC for my dropshot setup, but based on a recommendation from a member on this board (it might have been A-Jay) I switched to a 10# braid mainline and a 6# FC leader. I see no convincing reason to ever go back to using FC as the main line for this setup.
  17. The Alphas SV and the SS SV are coming over to our shores, and those are not built on the Tatula frame.
  18. From the looks of the picture I am certain that it is NOT on the Tatula frame. The lack of the TWS is even more compelling of an argument that it won't be on the Tatula frame.
  19. What kind of setup are you using? What line type?
  20. I have the BPS 100mph rainsuit, and it keeps me warm in the cold but still comfortable in some warmer weather (up to about 75 degrees). Most importantly it keeps me bone dry. For the hotter summer days I use a Frogg Toggs rain suit.
  21. Both, but I always start with nose hooked.
  22. I prefer the Spike-It pens, and the orange marker does a great job for coloring the claws of green pumpkin baits.
