  1. Welcome to the forum. If you get a chance introduce yourself in the "introduction" area. Anyways . I have fished around gar and carp for years. They won't cause any problems for you. If the fish ate in post spawn that is your focus. Stick on the post spawn pattern and you'll be sore lipping some soon!
  2. Man that is a healthy looking toad for sure! Great job and keep crossing their eyes!
  3. Ya never know until ya try it! Just remember if the pros are giving out their tips they have other tricks up their sleeve to replace what they just gave out.
  4. Did you use some type of backing when spooling up?
  5. Lol is all good. When he passed, it was printed in Bass Times or bass master. Can't remember which one. I cut it out and it is on my toolbox at work. As far as what you want to put on the rig, it's pretty much limitless. You'll never know until ya try it!
  6. They work fine for me.
  7. That'd be an excellent bait to throw from the back of the boat!
  8. Up. Always assume you don"t have clearance when trailering.
  9. Invest in cheap rod protectors or buy some stick jackets. Worth their weight in gold. Lay them in the bed diagonally and you'll be fine.
  10. I rub Megastrike on the body and trailer legs. Seems to help the fish hold a little longer.
  11. Try them on a 1/2 oz scroungier head.
  12. I'm seriously kicking around getting a 10 ft brand new one for 550.
  13. Good to hear!
  14. OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant has pledged one million dollars to go towards the tornado relief efforts. What a class act!
  15. Here. I would like to hear from Trapper. He's in the Muskogee area. Some nasty stuff was over that way.
  16. I'm hearing reports that the people that witnessed the devastating tornado in 1999, are saying this one is 3 times as bad.
  17. x2. I use 25 pound flouro around standing timber. Reason being that I would rather retie from time to time with the flouro. I have lost quite a few fish on braid in that setting because a big one wrapped me and the braid dug in the tree or into a branch.
  18. I'm an hour and a half away. My wife has a mom and sister there and they are well. My heart goes out to all that have lost loved ones. Most especially the children. It is absolutely gut wrenching. I hope everyone in that area is safe and sound as well.
  19. Take the cover off. Put 2 brakes on. Then dial the mag breaks in at 3. Adjust the tension nob. This should do what you want. If it doesn't, it may be the reel. I have two 7:1 with 20lb power pro spooled on and I haven't had any problems.
  20. I have invisx on 2 cranking setups and on one flipping stick. It's my first time with the invisx and I'm impressed so far. 12, 15, and 20 pound test.
  21. I have seen the posts from LMG and TNbassin on other threads. I have nothing against either one of these fellas. Their posts make me chuckle. With that being said LMG started this latest with poking a stick at Tnbassin. Maybe you should reread who ruined the thread. Just saying.
  22. Hope you made it through those "naders" rockchalk!
  23. Welcome back LMG! I thought I heard the Jaws theme song playing on the forum!
  24. You fish them almost the same way. The difference is the rate of fall and profile. You can put a punch skirt in between your weight and hook to give it a jig profile but even then to me the T-rig will fall quicker.
  25. Congrats on your purchase. But most of all great work on keeping your grades up and working practically full time while doing so!
