  1. Go to Wally World and get ya some swim baits.
  2. I think Fila has a skeletoe that is for water use. I haven't check into them. I have regular crocs and canvas crocs that I use. I don't do any wading. Oh and I don't give a rats who makes fun of me.
  3. Rhino, yes that is correct. You can also use a bell sinker or in a pinch, I've used a BPS drop shot weight. In that instance all you do is spread the wire apart to let it freely move on the split ring. Owner makes pre-made ones but they are rather expensive. Tie your line to the split ring. If you like Texas rig fishing you'll love this rig! The bait options are limitless. In my last tournament I used a rage anaconda with a 3/8 oz weight around Grand Lake docks. The fish loved it!
  4. I am right handed. Most of my bait casters are right handed as well. The only one that isn't is the one I pitch and flip with. All of my spin cast are lefty. The reason I use a lefty for pitching and flipping is it takes a second to switch hands. I could miss a strike on the fall. Just mess around with it and use what is comfortable. If it is awkward at first then the old saying comes into play, practice makes perfect.
  5. I can't yell this enough. I am self taught when it comes to bass fishing. Reading is how I first learned to fish. This was way before the internet. The main thing I want to stress is NEVER stop learning and always think outside the box! Oh yeah and welcome to your life long journey! Good Luck!
  6. Welcome! Quite a few Okies on here.
  7. Congrats on the new PB!
  8. It'll do ya good man! I'm still hunting with my Matthews Q2 I purchased in 2001!

Another vote for the shakE2 from megastrike. A great head. Before that head I was using the spot remover.
  10. x2. You're missing out if you don't get any!
  11. Smart kid! Number one on the list is one of my go to baits!
  12. Well the baby steps are helping. When I drag my fat carcass out of bed I do at least 5 stretches. The static back relieves a bunch of the pressure in my lower back. I haven't weighed but I've noticed more room in my T-shirt's. Starting back to the gym this weekend.
  13. Mike's grass jig will double as a swim jig. Also grab the brush style jig. That should cover your pond work. I am extremely impressed with his quality. The hand tied skirt with a custom painted head is hard to beat. Starting at $2.50 a pop for a custom jig????? And not to mention, order $50 or more and free shipping. I put in an order of 40 plus jigs and he had them to me in about 4 days. I am pretty close to his location though.
  14. I had one of their spinning rods until my fat rear sat on it! I liked the rod. For the money it is a good deal IMO.
  15. Excellent tip!
  16. #6315! LOL I'm not sure how they do the FLW. There is a league member in the bassmaster Resourceguy's league that is 23rd. (M. Cox) I am not sure who that is but that is dang good!
  17. I use a 6'10" Falcon Cara that I absolutely love. Lots of docks that I pull that stick out for.
  18. I hate to here this. RIP man! I probably don't have the greatest rep. in my club because even if I here there might be storms in the area where my family will be without me or the storms will be near where we are fishing I bail out of the tournament. There are many things in this world we can't control. I'm not going to chase a little green fish when it could cost me my life.
  19. Any new angler could become the next KVD. But to compare him to KVD now? There is no comparison. We'll see what he does but the Okie is looking mighty fine!
  20. Keep it up A-Jay! I check your progress daily. I'm literally on the edge of my seat waiting .....

The more I read this comment the more I laugh!
  22. In a 2 day tournament I had in April, super glue worked for me in a pinch. After a few fish it quit working. Had that not happened I could have won. It was IMO what killed me. I couldn't get bit on a similar color. Epoxy might work better tho.
  23. Oh lordy does that nail it! LOL I love food. My mom used to do a lot of catering. It was chicken, steak, sliced brisket, and what ever else you can think of. Along with taters! All the time. I was told I would throw fits when I didn't get my taters with my meals! Those are great tips in your other post. I just have to find some veggies I can tolerate. I have never liked many vegetables. Fruits I can hang with!
  24. Yup baby steps. I don't drink much soda. I used to tho! I might have 3 a week maybe. I'm more iced tea and water with a splash of sugar free Kool Aid! Good for you man! I plan on taking my life back. I refuse to settle with how I am feeling.
  25. Shoot me a PM when you get the time. My pain has been manageable with the stretching these past few days. I can pretty much do anything. I have stiffness in my lower back muscles. I plan on taking it easy and I have some cyclobenzaprine I plan on taking this weekend to loosen things up. I love to lift free weights. As you can see in my avatar I have pretty broad shoulders and a great frame for lifting. As far a supplements go, I would like to start off light on those and work my way into them. Most of the cash is going to the frickin hospitals due to some of the stuff my wife had to take care of.
