  1. Apparently it was on the Bassmaster show on ESPN this morning. He called Alton a "snake". I did not see it nor have I found video. I did post to the BASS facebook page and put my 2 cents in on the subject. If they are going to make this sport into a soap opera I will not watch or support them any further. It is pathetic.
  2. Interesting. I have an old boss that I worked for at Home Depot that now is a manager at Academy. He says Dick's is supposed to put a store where I live and I am wondering if that type of store is coming to this area. In Tulsa we have 2 Academy's and 3 Dick's. Bass Pro is close by in Broken Arrow. I would be thrilled to see this happen. A place that carry's loads of gear other than Wally world would be awesome!
  3. On Alton's facebook page, he stated that it was a 1 mile area along a bank in a creek. From what I'm hearing is Dean sounded like a whiney punk. I haven't found the interview.
  4. I went on a Rage binge this year. I have never used them, so I will be using them almost exclusively this year based on the suggestions of this forum.
  5. Me too! Weather is the same here in OK. I plan on doing a little bank beating Sunday.
  6. Better than spending hours in front of a mirror.
  7. It's nothing but a "feel good" rule.
  8. For the short time I've been on here, I have never read anything that was negative towards following one's dreams. What I have seen is a bunch of members extending their hand and helping people. Don't get discouraged at the few who rub you the wrong way. The only sound piece of advice I can give you is when things are typed or texted words can seem bad but they really aren't. You can not see facial expressions are hear the tone of voice someone has based on these things. Good Luck in your quest young man.
  9. TrapperJ is fishing in the Okie division as a co-angler. I plan on fishing next year as one.

    Envious. . . . .
  11. Bingo! FLW's issue for April has a excellet article about explaining actions on the above listed jerkbaits and a handful more as well.
  12. There's your answer! ShaneJ would know!
  13. Marshals are in the boat with the anglers. Camera boats are the extra boat.
  14. Yeah the guy I would have fished with blanked. He said it was miserable out there. Winning weight was 12 plus. A co-angler won. Go figure! lol
  15. x2 There's a guy in my club that doesn't use anything other than braid. 50 pound test and higher. I use it for many things a well. It just takes some time to figure out what "you" prefer.
  16. Well, I had to cancel this morning. The wife is out of commission due to surgery 3 weeks ago. The little one came down with an earache overnight and daddy gets the call. The way it goes!
  17. Probably a toothy critter. I tie a double polamor knot so that way I'm not worried about knot slippage.
  18. Crank the reel just fast enough to keep in contact with the bottom. The weight you use will depend on how deep you're fishing. I sometimes kill the bait so that way it looks like it is a darting crayfish to get away from the danger.
  19. x2 I do carry spare spools of line just in case my casting abilities fail and I get a "purdy" birds nest!
  20. Check the videos that Bassresource does. I set my reels based on Glenn's instructions to start out and it made a total difference in my casting abilities.
  21. Thanks! Good luck! Tenkiller is one of my favorite lakes. I caught my first Smallie there last September!
  22. I read an article about the guy that caught the lake record. He won the tournament. To bad you didn't draw him! As far as mine, I can't wait man. I am in tourny fishing hook, line, and sinker now. It consumes all of my thoughts. I just found out at work today that I may have to start bringing my pillow because of all the OT that is coming. For my sake I hope so. I get some junk paid off and I'll be joining you in boat ownership!
  23. Congrats! I'm still trying to beat my PB of 18 years ago!
