  1. Awesome man! I know I said squirrel tails second, but they work!
  2. What honestly makes me buy a bait now days is that I want a different alternative to what the boater is throwing. If he's throwing a spinner bait I'm throwing a chatter bait or swim jig. If he's flipping a jig, I'm flipping a tube. So I have to think what baits I don't have that would mimic what the boater uses.
  3. The more I hear about this particular reel, I want one! So I doubt that you made a poor choice.
  4. These are "unofficial" practice days. My above link shows what the weather is forecasted to be like thru the tournament. It will be interesting to say the least. Grand fishes well but not so much in February.
  5. ^^^one to many espresso's?
  6. Gene Larew is offering tours of their plant on Feb. 21 and Feb. 22 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. both days. Coffee and donuts will be available. Here is the 7 day weather outlook from Tulsa's local CBS station. http://www.newson6.com/category/112040/weather If you want the address let me know.
  7. That's exactly why I have one for home defense. Nothing like the sound of someone pumping double 00 buckshot in the chamber!
  8. ^^^ my wife does the same thing. I check the trash or go steal my dads. She just laughs. Nothing but blasphemy!
  9. I know what you mean. I seen him in 2004 at a Bassmaster University event in Tulsa. A very cool funny guy. I especially liked the story of him and Zell giving each other crud. Zell would give him a hard time about how hard he sets the hook. He was laughing at him and said what do you mean like this? He said he ripped the lips completely off the bass!
  10. He moved. From what I've read he will still be fishing in tournaments and doing sponsor stuff. He's just doing opens instead of fishing the elites. Maybe a Denny Brauer fishing show???
  11. Ya just chunk and wind. Vary your retrieve just like you would a lipless. If it hits cover, a rock or stump, give it a pause. Sometimes when you start it back up after that pause, it feels like a Mack truck just hit the end of your line!
  12. They are excellent baits for colder water. The pros on Grand will be using the 07 and 08 a bunch this next week!
  13. I believe they are shad raps. Although, with my A.D.D. I don't recall if the one's I have older and newer have deep divers on the bill.
  14. Ummmm ask your buddy! lol J/K Draw a picture of the lure. Then post it up. I'm just not putting together in my head what you're explaining.
  15. Ott posted a 5 pounder on his Facebook. It didn't show the bait or crank he caught it on. The others were on a shad rap and a jig. Things that make ya go hmmmmmm.
  16. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_123/everstart-toledo-bend-21613.html And he's still fishing the docks and winning!
  17. SK coffee tubes are much better. If I want a tube that displaces more water I use the Yum! vibra king.
  18. ^^^^ You need to post that on a bait monkey thread!
  19. If anyone is still thinking on who they want to pick, check this article out. http://www.bassmaster.com/news/cold-weather-success-good-predictor
  20. That is what I've heard as well.
  21. I'm down Glenn! But I don't know a good one close to the Expo!
