  1. I feel sad for those who can't fish year round. or who don't fish at all.......
  2. Lake Washington on the St. Johns in Melbourne is open. water is high but they were hitting buzz baits yesterday. just keep moving and look for busting shad on the surface. lower end of lake where river dumps into lake is ripping so be careful if you want to try and fish the lower end.
  3. Tom, I know you have inspired people. look at some of your posts and look at the responses. I don't know you from Adam but I can surely say you have inspired me about not only fishing but life in general. So thank you. Oh yeah what I do best................fish. just fish.
  4. stick marsh, headwaters lake in east central Florida is a good place to go.water is a little high, but fish are still there.
  5. I use an old Zara Puppy with the hooks removed.....makes it easier to get through the grass....
  6. not as high as I thought it would be. clean also.
  7. surprised how good fishing was today. topwater and small swimbaits took it for me this morning. over 30,no bigger than 3 lbs. but a great day nonetheless.
  8. I already live where I want to. no more than 5 minutes to the St. Johns river. 30 to Stick Marsh,Headwaters. perfectly located for all the fishing anyone could ever want or need. I am blessed and tell myself everyday.
  9. we got very lucky on the space coast. we never lost power. just a bunch of debris blown around. some others around my area lost power but otherwise we got through very well. Lake Washington just down the street,a wide spot on the St. Johns, was in the parking lot this morning. but by this evening had retreated quite a bit. gonna fish it on Sunday to see how the fish are going to react to the high water conditions.
  10. punching is a reaction bite.so the lure the gets through the canopy will be the one that gets bit.the fish don't care who makes it......
  11. back in 2004 we had 3 back to back to back and the fishing was horrible for about a week.then all of a sudden it turned on like I've never seen. it all depends on how much water that fell, temperature, current flow etc. fish live in the stuff so they react to whatever is there. we on the other hand wish the fish would bite all day everyday.......no matter what.
  12. we are ready as we can be.my wife is done such a great job just getting all of the essentials taken care of while get all the outdoor stuff safe and secure.hope all is well with everyone else.be safe.
  13. have driven from Fl. to upstate New York .....flown to California......so nothing is to far for me........
  14. shallow, mans baby 1-.......mid ...bomber square bill.......got nothing deep........being in Florida I don't fish crank baits that deep......just saying..... oh yeah I forgot a Rattletrap.....
  15. every so often some show up on eBay and I grab em.....
  16. still throw a Manns Razorback pig.....and from time to time I come across some original Fliptail worms......
  17. Capt. Phil is who you need to get in touch with..........
  18. another great trick is to Carolina Rig them......
  19. they also care more about what they do.......
  20. this.......
  21. if I could change something it would be fish more............ other than that nothing......
  22. strike zone on 1-92 is awesome. there is a Bass Pro in Palm Bay,just south of melbourne.also there is Academy also in south melbourne/palm bay area.right now the local golf course is closed due to ravamping. it's called mallards landing. as long as he stays out peoples back yard it's ok. he can fish by the clubhouse also. catch and release only. if the greenskeeper is out cutting the grass by the clubhouse he will have to wait till he's done.there are some other ponds to explore. go on Google Earth and tell him to look around.what area in melbourne is he? it might help to narrow down some locations.
  23. I live in Melbourne and the only club around is open to 16 years or older. I will contact some of the local high schools and find out if they have anything. also am in touch with a lot of other anglers that might be able to help out.let me know if there is anything I could do to help.
