BPT / MLF Format Rules Needs To Change !!
Another one......I wonder if there are forums dedicated to racing where members write open letters to Jim France in the forum thinking he is going to read them and make sweeping changes to NASCAR? LOL

Jeaux Burreaux
Good thing they don't have to play the Ravens..... LSU is a GREAT team. Ohio St should have beat Clemson easily, they left WAAAAAY to many points on the board and got a real bad call and a review that might have cost them a win. LSU won't leave those points out there. LSU 49 - tOSU 27

Possible Texas road trip next summer
I haven't ever went specifically targeting them, but I have caught them in the Guadalupe River (Comal River branch) in New Braunfels. Maybe someone from Texas can chime in with a better answer. When I go to Texas, I am heading to Fork.

What lures did you lose the most in 2019?
Unfortunately this.....Also lost a few squarebills and a couple 110's to the same fate.

Shimano Bantam vs Met
Good news! I was hoping so, but figured I would at least give it a shot. I don't figure I will have enough patience to dedicate a lot of time to the technique anyway lol.

My new (used) boat
After some life changing things that have been going on the last few months or so the wife and I sat down and she said she thought it would be a good idea for me to get a boat so I can spend more time out on the water fishing. I had been looking for a while and just couldn't find anything that really tickled my fancy. It seemed as though it was an old fixer upper or something out of my price range. I finally found one that I was interested in but it was a trade in and the guy kept his TM and all of the electronics off of it. I went and looked at it and I was able to have the dealer install what I wanted on it and get out of there with a price that I was happy with. They delivered it to me last Friday (Dec 20th) on my Birthday and I was finally able to get it out on the water yesterday. I spent more time playing than I did fishing but it was good to get out in my own boat. It is a 2003 Triton tr186 with a Mercury 150. Dealer installed a MK Terrova 80lb 24v TM, HB Helix 8 Mega Si Mega Di at the console, Helix 8 Mega Di at the Bow, MK 330 on board charger, 2 new Interstate deep cycle batteries, new Interstate cranking battery, Pro trim on the console, boat buckle transom tie downs, and a hot foot. I put new wheels and tires on the trailer, keel guard, new latches and a new steering wheel on it. Everything on the boat worked great and I look forward to many trips on the water. Sorry, this was just a quick pic after I returned home from the lake and it was almost dark.

Consistentcy and the 5 fish format
Excellent point, Tom. Every weigh in I have ever been to you hear the guys say "We caught a bunch, just couldn't get any size." To me, catching 5 of the biggest ones weighed in is more luck than catching a bunch and not getting any size. You can fish a good spot and catch a 3 and two hours later someone may come along and pull a 6 from there. I have been lucky and only caught 5 fish all day and it put me in the money and I have caught 20 + in a day and not even bothered weighing in because I may not have even had 5 fish over the length limit lol.

Shimano Bantam vs Met
Well, I made a decision and a wrong one at that lol. I ordered a Tranx but I accidentally ordered a 200 instead of a 300. I had both of them in my watch list and for some reason I thought they were both the 300 and I ordered the cheapest one. Turns out it was a 200. I'm going to try it and see how it works out. I ordered a 7'8" XH Intenza to throw them on and going with 20 lb Sufix Elite. Plan to stay 2 oz and under and this is just a way for me to get into swimbaits on the "entry level" at best.

Consistentcy and the 5 fish format
Sorry, I wasn't trying to be that way. I was actually trying to figure out what exactly he meant by consistent. Catching fish in general, catching 5 big fish, catching 200 fish, catching 3 big fish and 100 one lbers......etc. I was trying to find out kind of information the OP wanted and even provided some statistics to show some "consistency" between the two formats. BTW, me pointing out where 95% of his posts are directed isn't condescending or arrogant, just an observation.

Consistentcy and the 5 fish format
Of your 22 posts, 19 of them are related to MLF/BPT so it may seem as though this topic is yet another jab/rant/whatever at them. You use words and phrases that make it seem like you are attempting to ask questions or engage in conversations about the "tournament" format as you often refer to it. When the NBA implemented the 3 point line I would assume that people didn't like it because it wasn't the way it had always been. Change isn't for everyone, but they convinced the best anglers in the world to join them so they must have been on to something. Before anyone starts with the "Well Luke So and So said they are in trouble and BP and G Man left" yeah I know, but 2 of the best anglers in the world replaced them. However, this is about consistency and the term consistent doesn't change whether it's making 10 footers or 3 pointers, if you are only worried about the final outcome. Like I said before, they are still taking weights, not counting fish. Here are some facts: Bradley Roy Ott DeFoe Brent Chapman Aaron Martens Jacob Powroznik Brandon Palaniuk Jacob Wheeler Mark Daniels Jr Todd Faircloth Casey Ashley Ike Andy Montgomery All these anglers finished in the top 1/4 of the AOY standings in BASS in 2018 and the top 1/3 of the standings in the AOY in 2019 in BPT. Not sure if you are looking for statistics like this or just trying to stir the pot. I wasn't going to waste my time going back any further since there is only one season of BPT to compare to. I could care less how they decide to weigh them, count them, or whatever else they decide to do. As with any other sport there is, the cream will always rise to the top.

Shimano Bantam vs Met
The Bantam has an 84 mm in the 5.5, 6.2 and 7.1 and a 90 mm in the 8.1 The Met has an 84 mm in the 6.2 and 7.4 and a 96 mm in the 8.5 I own a reel with each of the handles and the only difference you might be able to tell would be going from the 84 to the 96. You would be hard pressed to tell an on the water difference between the 84 and the 90. We are talking 3 mm on each end of the handle or .11" But I guess if we are going to debate over about 1/10th of an inch you could get a 96 mm Met xg handle from the Tackle Trap

Another MLFLW Rant
No problem, glad you were able to get these negative feelings out there. This time of the year we should all be allowed to enjoy the Holiday's without any ill will toward an organization that we will in no way ever be a part of or that will ever in any way effect our lives. An open forum is the perfect place to just "let it all out" as they say and I for one am glad you were able to get this off your chest on this Christmas Eve. May you continue to enjoy all the blessings you have, and if for any reason you feel like venting even more, we are open ears (well maybe eyes).

Consistentcy and the 5 fish format
Consistent, how? Nothing saying a guy can't go to a BPT event and try to catch 20 four lbers vs 80 one pounders. I would think consistent would be catching fish all day, not just catching 7 in a day and getting lucky that 5 of them were the biggest 5. There is a reason they still weigh them instead of count them. They still use pounds and ounces instead of tally marks.

~Fantasy Football Fishing League~
Thanks to @iabass8 for running the league and good luck! Here's to hoping Adams doesn't break his leg in warmups lol. Even then he still has a lot of work to do. I've already got the money spent just in case though

Is it the one with the 6 pin 27 position externally adjustable centrifugal brakes? I've heard that a time or two on here.

Anyone use straight braid for everything?
I usually drink Coke, but sometimes I like to have a Dr Pepper LOL. I plan to use the Mono for moving baits and stick with braid for topwater and bottom contact.

Anyone use straight braid for everything?
I used straight braid on everything for the past few years and didn't noticed any difference in catch rates. However, I just spooled up all new line and switched it up a little bit and put some 12 lb Sufix Elite on a couple rigs. No reason, just figured I would see how it goes. If I don't like it, back to braid it is.
