Deer hunting has BLOWN up in recent years thanks to hunting shows. The reason being that guys watch a show and see these giant deer being killed and they think they can go out and do the same thing. This drives up prices on everything from bows to arrows and ATV's to hunting leases. I doubt the industry would be as big as it is if they showed the reality of deer hunting. I'm talking about sitting for hours and hours and sometimes never seeing a deer, or some guys hunting for 3-4 years and never killing a buck. The average Joe may watch this new format and think it is super easy to go out and catch 70-80 fish in a day, all they need is a new boat with all the bells and whistles. If you don't think there are guys out there who will go buy a new boat and all new gear to give it a try, you are kidding yourself.

^^^^^ Excellent choices in the Sweet Beaver colors. If you haven't tried it yet, give Low Blow a shot if those colors produce for you. Some days the flake in that color seem to help.

Yep, the person who just wants to watch guys catch fish doesn't care about a guy explaining that he is on a rock pile and trying to get a squarebill to bounce off and get bit. Or a guy is fishing a lay down and explaining why he is dragging a jig instead of bouncing it. They don't care about all that, they just want to see fish being caught.

This. I actually had a guy who was fishing a spinnerbait out in front of the boat and moving at a pretty good clip with the TM while fairly close to shore one time. I grabbed a lipless and tossed it behind the boat and just sat there and watched him fish. We went probably 300 yards or more along the bank and I guess his spidey senses noticed I was just watching him. He turns and says "Are you trolling?" I told him "I have no other choice at this point" I think he got the hint, he slowed down where I could work a soft plastic.

I wish I could give you some super insight about this rod. I have used it "sparingly" since I bought it. I would definetely not consider myself a finesse fisherman and I really haven't given in a lot of time on the water. I have 10 lb Sufix fluoro on it right now. I was throwing 20 lb braid before trying the fluoro. I have thrown ned rigs, shakey heads, drop shots and weightless senkos on it. I plan to really try to become a better finesse fisherman this coming summer so hopefully I can actually put the rod through it's paces. Sorry I am not much help, but I just want to be honest. Member @Efishin could give you better advice.
