Nice, tell him congrats. He will always remember his first.
  2. Archery and fishing are sports where you can pay to be called a professional. I thought a professional was paid to do something, no? Wonder what it would cost someone to play RF in game 7 of the world series? LOL
  3. I have the Zodias in a 6'10" ML that I use for ned rigs, weightless soft plastics and 1/16 oz t-rigs. I haven't had the chance to use it very much but it loads well for casting. It actually has more backbone than I had expected. Maybe @Efishin can chime in, I think he has more experience with this rod. My reel is a Scorpion BFS XG with 20lb Sufix 832.
  4. I'm in, I have some banjo minnows, helicopter lures and Doug Hannon snake lures I need to re-gift someone.
  5. Yes, there are plenty of good people left in this world. The thing about it is, just like the news, people only want to point out the bad instead of the good. It's rare to read stories that say, "I ordered a pizza and it was perfect" instead we hear "I will never go back to so and so restaurant because the service was terrible and the food was awful".
  6. Maybe you just didn't understand what he was saying. @NathanDLTH I use all Shimano Zodias rods on my main setups. I have a 6'10 ML, 6'10 M, 2x 6'10 MH, 2x 7'2" MH and a 7'2 H. I love the Zodias series rods and I like the way each rod "feels" in my hand, not to be confused by the way the rod "feels" while fishing. I have always been weird like that though, I want all my grips on my golf clubs to be exactly the same aside from my putter. I will re-grip my driver or wedges if they have a different grip from my irons. I guess it's a feel thing.
  7. I took it out yesterday and fished for about 5 hours. I used it the majority of the time. Mostly throwing a texas rigged soft plastic with a 3/16 oz weight. I love it, but I wasn't surprised. It's very smooth and pals incredibly well.
  8. What reel is this? You use this term all the time and I have never knew what you were talking about. Finally decided to ask.
  9. Doesn't that phrase right there go against the title of the thread? Maybe try fishing them they way they were designed and see if that helps. Maybe that will solve the problem. I don't know but I would think making the hook wider would be worse for hook sets. I know if I bend a worm hook out I immediately change to a new one.
  10. You bent the hooks....out? On purpose?
  11. The Japanese monkey got me, and the Bantam hasn't even arrived yet. Sorry for the poor quality picture.
  12. It was a simple enough question. No need to try to get all technical on this one.
  13. LOL, I don't think he even knows. I was wondering the same thing when I read it.
  14. It amazes me that the main thing between a fish (possibly a GIANT trophy) and landing that fish is the line and it is often the most common "how about this cheap stuff" question.
  15. Zoom tiny brush hogs, 3" senkos, Chigger craws
  16. It's me again Margret. I guess I still don't don't get it. I tried to claim Kirk Cousins off waivers yesterday so I could play him in tonight's game (expecting I would have him this morning). I put my bid in and everything and I didn't get him and it shows him as still available. What did I do wrong? It said Thursday out beside every players name. Now it says Friday beside their name unless they are playing tonight and it says Wed. I thought a day ahead of time was plenty of time to claim someone. Sorry, I thought I had it under control LOL.
  17. I have a Curado DC and a Curado 200K HG. They would fit the bill for everything you have listed. Both mint, basically brand new. I would sell them if interested. They are just sitting around right now. I will be listing them here soon.
  18. Thanks for all the replies. I ordered the Bantam in a 6.2. Just trying to decide if I want to put it on a Zodias 6'10" M and throw treble baits or put it on a Zodias 6'10" MH and throw spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Which ever rod it doesn't go on I will be putting a Scorpion DC HG on.
  19. Will the commercials during the BPT events and MLF events still bash on livewell tournaments since the owners of MLF/BPT are now in charge of FLW and are going to be using livewell tournaments? LOL Seems as though that was their "selling point" to some people when they started MLF.
  20. That is a difficult question for me to answer. I would have to ask myself a few things before I could come up with an answer. Do I want to catch a bunch of fish? Target big fish? Fish open water? Fish structure? Fish fast? Fish slow? What is the weather like? What color is the water? How deep is it? All that being said, if you told me I could only fish one bait on any given day under any given circumstance, then I am throwing a Green Pumpkin Baby Brush hog on a 3/16 oz weight. That is just my confidence bait.
  21. But nobody ever asks "What is the best $100 reel?" LOL
  22. This will probably be a dedicated squarebill or lipless reel. Going to be mounted on a 6'10" M Zodias.
