  1. Get well soon! Keep reading and check in when you can.
  2. I was ready to buy when I saw the price, but I am too big for the sizes they have left.
  3. Good points, and 99% of anglers couldn't tell the difference between 25 or 30
  4. What kind of questions do you have that you can't find the answers to? Weight, gear material, handle length, line capacity, IPT, braking system????? I don't know if this is against forum rules, but tackle tour has a bunch of reviews that would take you a while to read if you are so inclined to do so.
  5. Scorpion DC, Scorpion 70, Scorpion MGL, Bantam MGL, Chronarch MGL, Curado DC, Curado K I currently own or have owned them all and you can't go wrong with any of them.
  6. I'm gonna ask a stupid question I suppose. But why on earth would you need the model number? I have zero clue what the model number is for a pack of reaction innovation sweet beavers in low blow color, but I can find them very easily on the website by searching the name. I guess I just don't know any item that the actual model number would be necessary.
  7. I was finally able to put both reels to the test this past weekend and here are my thoughts (and only my thoughts) and opinions. I use these reels for two entirely different techniques so this isn't so much as a head to head comparison. I was using my Bantam in a 6:1 ratio to throw jerkbaits and squarebills. The wind on Saturday was pretty brutal and I was trying to find some fish off the main lake points. Only was able to find one fish in this area but this reel performed FLAWLESSLY. Not once did I get a backlash or even think I was going to get one. This was casting into, across and with the wind. The reel palms incredibly well and despite the small amount more that it weighs, I wasn't able to tell a difference when fishing it. I was using the Chronarch in a 7:1 ratio to throw 1/8 oz T-Rigged 3" Senko for the first part of Saurday and it handled it better than I had anticipated. On Sunday I switched to a 3/16 oz T-Rigged sweet beaver and this is where this reel shined. It pitched and handled great. This reel is a bit longer but seems to palm as well as the Bantam. I don't get the hollow feeling that people claim but maybe it's because I wasn't using it for moving baits. Overall, these are both great reels and I don't think you can go wrong with either. If I were buying again, I would buy the one that I could get the best deal on. I paid $260 for my Bantam and $190 for my Chronarch and I don't think the Bantam is $70 better if money is an issue. If money is no problem, get them BOTH.
  8. Thank you to all those who have served the greatest country in the world!!!!!!
  9. Wounded prey is easier to catch. LOL
  10. Only one was camera worthy today. Had one come unbuttoned at the boat that would have been, but that's fishing.
  11. I use the TW ones. I had the Shimano ones and they are nice but the TW ones seem to be thicker and the velco strap works better IMO.
  12. Nothing scientific here, I've just found that braid works for me in 99% of the situations I fish. I threw straight braid today and the guy fishing out of the same boat was using mono. Both throwing a sweet beaver in low blow color, I out fished him 6 to 1. Not saying line had anything to do with it, but I have never noticed much difference in catching when I did use mono or a leader.
  13. Braid, braid, braid, braid, braid, braid, braid, braid, braid and braid. No leader
  14. We officially have a front runner for the Heisman. What a great game to watch.
  15. Caught some fall chunks, despite the cold and wind it was a good morning.
  16. Shimano Antares DC MD on a Shimano G Loomis Conquest 7' MH 843C MBR Should be able to step in to that for about $1,300
  17. The DC is nice to have but certainly not necessary even for someone new to baitcasting. In fact, I would almost recommend learning on one without the DC unless you plan to only use DC reels moving forward. A trained thumb is something that will benefit you in the long run. Baitcasters aren't that hard to use if you start out slow and work your way into it. Now, if you take all the brakes off, set it on 1 and go to flinging a spinnerbait into the wind then you will wish you had a DC lol. There are a lot of great choices and with patience and practice you will get the hang of it.
  18. You are going to hear a lot of Tatula, Curado, SLX, Lew's tmb, etc. The advice you receive will be solid advice, but it will also be opinion and personal preference. I am a Shimano guy but I have never held an SLX so I can't recommend one based on personal experience. There are a TON of great reels in that price range and I would doubt seriously that you would be disappointed in any of the recommendations you will receive. My advice, as well as what many others will say is to go out and handle as many as you can in the store to get a feel for what you like and go from there.
  19. Dang, just 4 more oz and you could weigh it in on MLF.
  20. I bet there are forums for dirt track guys who have those driver who think they could drive in Nascar as well. Same thing here, a lot of guys "think" they could do something when in reality they simply can't. I would guess this is true with most hobby type sports and forums, they could be pros, they just choose not to be.
  21. I had mine on a 6'10 MH Zodias and used it for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. It worked great for those applications especially since it is windy 90% of the time here in Oklahoma.
