Old Glory is flying high!
Weather and time finally got in sync and I was able to install my pole and flag this weekend. Proud to be an American and proud to show it.

Terminal Tackle-Weights and Jig heads? How many sizes?
I have 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 oz in bullet weights. Sometimes I have found a big difference between a 3/16 and 1/4 on the same day on the same rod and reel with the same bait.

Favorite Senko Colors
Green pumpkin/black fleck or black /blue fleck. Not that it matters, I just wanted to post on a dinosaur thread.

Anyone ever order a rod from Amazon?
Do you realize Amazon isn't an actual retailer for a majority of their items? They are a large storefront for others to sell items on. That's why you can get a Curado for $179-$199. There are a ton of items that vary in price. I'm gonna guess that whoever sends you the rod will have it shipped correctly though.

Fishing Jersey
I used to fish a trail and these guys had Keystone Light Jerseys. It was awesome, and they were GOOD!

Classic Predictions
Thanks! I wasn't sure how that was going to work this year.

Snap swivels
I have caught 40lb catfish on snap swivels and never had a problem. But for some odd reason I refuse to use them on 2lb bass LOL!

Classic Predictions
Are the MLF guys fishing the classic?

First two BPT groups revealed for next week's kickoff
I like the MLF format better. To me, it's all about who can find a pattern and catch fish. For me, that's what fishing is all about, catching fish. Catching 5 big fish is sometimes about luck. Catching 20 fish that weigh in at 40lbs and winning is more impressive to me. The guys that usually win when scores are low are the guys that luck into a 6lber, that's why I like to see the 40-50lb days where guys are weighing 20 or more fish. Also, the live score tracker has to be an intimidating thing when you are not catching them.

Fishing Jersey
Sometimes I wear a Kevin Durant jersey to pick-up games, if my teams loses, I just join the winning team.

co-angler setups
I haven't fished them yet. Just got them last week. As soon as basketball season is over (I coach), I plan to hit the water. They feel really good and balance great. The Winn grips are awesome. I was worried they were going to be slick feeling but they are not. More of a tacky feel like a golf grip. I've fished my Crucials for the last few seasons and just wanted to try something new. I figure if I don't like them I can go back to the Crucials.

Lets talk cheap gear
Sorry to interrupt your "cheap" thread again. But I just bought a Curado 70 brand new for $120. Which to me is cheap. The main thing I have taken from this thread is that people who can't or don't want to spend money on fishing gear come up with a reason to justify why they are okay with using "cheap" gear. I am a deer hunter and when you drop $2,000 + on a bow and accessories when you get to hunt 20 days a year and maybe get one or two shots at a deer, a few hundred bucks on a fishing set up is nothing. Of course I am not on a fixed income or arguing with my wife about what I can or can't spend on my hobbies. I also have a $1,200 shotgun that has only killed a few doves and ducks, but it is still worth about $1,200 5 years later, my $500 gun is worth about $150.

Size Estimate?
I haven't caught a ton of SMB here in OK, but my biggest is 2.11 and I think yours is real close if not bigger. However, I would recommend buying a set of scales, I want to know for sure what a fish weighs.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
Not 2011 year, 2012 Super Bowl. 911 occurred in 2001 and the Pats won the 2002 Super Bowl. Follow?

Lake Murray, TOUGH
Murray is my second favorite lake to fish right behind Eufaula. I couldn't believe how difficult the fishing was for them. I was amazed watching them have so much trouble putting fish in the boat. I don't think I have ever blanked there. It must have just been tough fishing as I know those guys are 1,000,000x better than I am. At least there won't be a ton of boat traffic since they didn't catch a ton of big fish

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
We are talking one call, where in today's NFL the helmet to helmet is called EVERYTIME and reviewed just to make certain the call was correct. Generalizations don't work in this case. You used an entire decade (the 80's) to argue one call.

Top Dynasties in Sports History
To me, that's why it is so hard to compare teams from different eras. I am a HUGE Jordan fan, and I don't think they (Bulls) would be dominant in today's NBA. Of course the game was more physical in the 90's so that would make a HUGE difference as well.

Top Dynasties in Sports History
Russell averaged over 22 RPG in his career, nothing about that says he didn't have a clear advantage. Not to mention he had the best PG in the league on his team. You have to at least admit you are comparing apples to oranges with those Celtics teams vs. anything in the last 30 years.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
Actually, you didn't. The 1:48 could have been run off easily. Leaving no time on the clock. The only thing in question would have been if he missed the FG.

Lets talk cheap gear
My bad, I will see my way out of the thread.

Top Dynasties in Sports History
Those Celtic titles are about as impressive as the Pats conf titles. Only had to beat 7 teams. I wouldn't call that a dynasty. I mean Bill Russell was one of like 3 guys over 7' and the other 2 were white (I'm white, I can say that lol) when Wilt came along the dynasty wasn't as dominant.

Lets talk cheap gear
In my younger days I had Cores, Chronarchs, Steezes, etc. Now I am using Denali Fission rods, a couple Citicas, a Scorpion and a Curado.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2019
This is how I look at this particular call. It was CLEAR pass interference, no question about it. It was CLEAR helmet to helmet, no question about it. I would argue as well that there were other missed calls, but NONE were as obvious as this one. I tried telling my buddy (who hates the Saints) and thinks it's funny that they lost that it would be like an NBA conf. final game 7 with the game tied with 4 seconds left and the team is waiting to shoot the last shot. Player pulls up and defensive guy shoves him in the chest into the first row and the ref doesn't call the foul. Which would be a CLEAR foul and a CLEAR intentional foul. Now, he may have missed all 3 free throws or he may not have. Fact is, in that situation, the call affected the outcome of the game. Not any of this "well they missed 3 free throws earlier" or "they had a chance in OT" that doesn't matter. The no call is what potentially cost that team the game. This is what happened here. The Saints may not have made the FG and ran out the clock, but the call assured them that there wasn't even that possibility.
