  1. My 150DC is the first I have owned of the DC models. I read all about the buzzing on the cast but it sure does take some getting use to. Not that it is bad or anything, just different.
  2. I will be on the water Sunday, maybe I can get some video of mine signing and post it.
  3. This was posted a long time ago. Makes it easier to understand.
  4. I met my wife when her kids were 2,3 and 5. That is one of the excuses she used was their age. I explained to her that you couldn't expect them to behave when they are 9,10 or 15 if they aren't expected to when they are 2,3 or 7. I guess I just see disrespect from kids on a daily basis who are 12, 13 and 14 and most of them have the same attitude as this kid. I absolutely hate to hear "why" when you tell a kid to do something. I can say - Don't throw that pencil, and they say "why". I hope when one of my child's teachers tell them something they reply "Yes ma'am or Yes sir or No ma'am or No sir".
  5. I will put my flame suit on because I am sure this isn't going to sit well with some, but here goes. This type of parenting is what is turning this country into what it is today. I know when I was told to do something, I did it right then. There was no talking back or refusing to do something. My parents were some of the best in the world, they weren't mean, but they taught me respect and discipline. This kid will be the same kid who doesn't think he needs to behave in school and he will talk back to his teachers because his Dad lets him and even thinks it is cute enough to record. When my wife and I first got serious I had a very difficult time with the way she let her daughters talk back to her. She had been raising 3 girls by herself for 5 years so she was just used to it. I put a stop to all that and they are very well behaved now. It doesn't take long for me to recognize what type of parenting is done at home when I see how the kids behave in school. Many people here probably see the same thing in the store or at a restaurant. I'm sorry, I guess I am just old school and find this type of behavior by the parent and child to be sickening.
  6. Well, this will not be a popular opinion, but I have been on 2 guided bass trips and here is my opinion. Both times the guide caught more fish than my partner and I combined. Now, am I fishing to watch them fish or for them to put me on fish? Both trips were a disaster in my mind and my tip was $0. They both acted as if they were the legend of the lake and it was a pleasure to get to fish with them. I will NEVER go bass fishing with a guide again. That being said, I have been on a couple guided striper trips and they were awesome. We always caught our limit and they even let us fish the full time we paid for not just when we caught our limit.
  7. To me, luck is something that happens by chance. Someone can put a hundred dollars in a slot machine and not win a thing. Someone else may put a dollar in and win a thousand. Neither required a skill set other than pushing the button. Then you have those people that think they actually have a skill set for playing slots. They will say stupid stuff like "always play the machine on the third row closest to the door on the second Monday of the month after 8:00 PM". Fishermen have a certain skill set and knowledge to bring to the table, but it doesn't mean there isn't luck involved. You may find a lay down and fish the heck out of it for 20 min and not get a bite because you never threw it in the perfect spot. The next guy may catch that 8 lber on his first cast because his cast was perfect. It wasn't that he brought a different skill set. You both knew there could be fish there, he just happened to get lucky with where he made his first cast or maybe he was using a different bait and he was lucky that the fish wanted that particular bait. So for me, there is some luck involved no matter how you look at it.
  8. That's your option but when you love to fish tourneys what other option do you have? What do you suggest these tourneys do to avoid cheating then? A polygraph is not perfect but it can certainly help prevent a lot of cheating. I know it's in the back of my head while fishing that if I win I'll have to take one, so I make sure I don't win. LOL Just had to change the end of your post to best suit my needs. ?
  9. They probably do it to either A. Scare people into not cheating just in case, or B. Keep people like you from fishing so they don't have to worry about a legal battle. It may not be admissible in a court of law, but it is usually good enough to get someone to crack (which I am pretty sure is the intent)
  10. Every tournament I have fished it has said something about a lie detector possibly being used. If you sign that waiver you are agreeing to taking one. They would laugh at someone when they threatened to sue. But, it is 2019 and people will sue for anything looking for a quick payday.
  11. I saw what they are going for, I just don't think they are worth that. I also don't think a Core 50mg is worth $280 but people seem to get that for them.
  12. E5 is the 5.3 E7 is the 7.1 Good reels but not worth what some people want for them. I would offer him $75 if it is in near mint condition. The G series replaced the E's and I believe that they were released in 2011. However, I would choose the E over the G any day of the week.
  13. LOL, are you new to tournament fishing???? They do it at the local level. You don't think they do it when hundreds of thousands are on the line? No wonder you asked the question.
  14. Yes, Luke Clausen failed a lie detector after going to dinner one day and a local (not a pro) was talking to him about the lake they were fishing. He finished in the top 12 and he failed the lie detector and forgot about the conversation. I guess you are determined to say they are going to cheat since you started a thread talking about "silly" rule.
  15. Okay, honor system is your answer.
  16. EE or Jordan Lee. They are tuned in right now.
  17. Dead horse. Been talked about already. They won't cheat for fear of being caught.
  18. Something is definitely not put back correctly. I'm guessing it's a spring issue or washer issue. Thought maybe a gear wasn't aligned for a second, but it it will reel when the drag is loosened it leads me to believe it is closer to the handle end. I'm no expert though, maybe some of the guys who have a lot more experience than me will chime in.
  19. I met Edwin at the BPS in OKC. Super nice guy. Great to see him do so well.
  20. 410,000 casts!!!!!!!
  21. Sticky situation with neighbors. I moved in to my new place almost 5 years ago. The neighbors around me own 400 acres. Their house is about 1/2 mile from mine. I went and introduced myself and told them I would watch out for their property and make sure they knew that if they needed any help with the cattle or anything to just let me know. This was in May. I helped them put a couple cows up, and helped them fix fence a few times. They have a couple ponds so one day I asked if I could fish and they said sure. So when the fall rolled around I asked if I could bow hunt on their property. The woman gave me an adamant NO. Which was fine, I understand. Well they started driving the fence lines during deer season, I guess thinking I was going to sneak on their land. Well one day I was practicing and missed my target and my arrow went onto their land. I looked for that arrow for like 3 days and never found it. About a week later she shows up to my house with the arrow and is cussing and yelling about me hunting on their land and trespassing and what not. The arrow had to have been like 10 - 20 ft on their side. Anyway, I told her I wasn't hunting, I showed her my target, I apologized and told her I was so sorry. She kept the arrow for "evidence" told me I was no longer allowed to step foot on their property and she would be making sure the county sheriffs were aware of the situation. My driveway is about 1/4 mile long and for a few months she would drive down my driveway and turn around and leave. I haven't seen her or spoken to her in about 4 1/2 years. You just never know about some people. I would probably get the law involved about the violations first, then go from there. A good officer will not let it be known that you complained.
  22. Keith Poche only 3 oz out catches a 14 oz with 2 min left. Tough one. Holy Cow! Stephen Browning with a clutch catch!!!!! If watching these guys near the cut line isn't exciting for some people, I would hate to know what it takes to get you excited.
