  1. I'm OCD as they come, I guarantee my weights and baits are more organized than most.
  2. I have been putting line on reels since I was 13 years old, never in my life did I think it was this complicated. I'm 39 by the way.
  3. I guess the Georgia/Tenn area is different. That thing is worth nothing here. You would likely have to beg someone to take it off your property just to get rid of it.
  4. reaction innovations sweet beaver or berkley chigger craw
  5. There is a brand new on the bay right now for $15.50. Not sure if you are looking for a certain style (I don't have a clue what Mark Zona wears).
  6. I guess I am kind of on the opposite side of a texas rig or soft plastic. I have been fishing soft plastics 25 years and I still miss fish on them. I can't imagine the frustration a newbie would have trying to feel the bite and set the hook. I would opt for a moving bait like a spinner bait or inline spinner if you must use artificial lures. However, if it were me we would be using minnows or night crawlers.
  7. A-Jay, I have so much respect for you and your work ethic and attitude. Your posts are always inspiring and positive. I don't care if it's about fishing or this thread or a football thread. You do not brag or boast but you show what hard work does for people. You are one of the most salt of the Earth guys I have ever seen on any forum I visit. Keep up the good work man. I strive to have such a positive attitude.
  8. I use 40 or 50# 832 depending on cover. If I am fishing a rocky bottom i will throw a 20# fluoro leader on.
  9. Great post, we have them at the Fire Department but I never thought about using them in this capacity. BTW, these will blow the doors off any kitchen scissors or line snips. I'd like to see those kitchen scissors cut through nails, seat belts, or a good strong hook for that matter.
  10. Shimano Tranx 200 might be worth looking at.
  11. I have already typed up 4 different responses, but I will just be quite as it appears my opinion isn't going to sit well with some.
  12. Guess i misunderstood. I thought he was saying a polygraph was unfair to him because of his disability, even though he has no idea if he could pass one or not.
  13. I think, (not speaking for him) but the way I understood it is you are already using your disability as a crutch and already making an excuse. I have been a school teacher for 13 years so I know all about how disabilities are used to change the rules so those with said disability could still be just as successful as other students in their class. Same, I hope I am never a suspect in a murder investigation, I would fail miserably.
  14. Not sure, but if you end up with the 3000 and you don't like the knob, I will send you one off my 2500 as I replaced it with a Power R knob. Just let me know.
  15. I am not sure the size of the shop or the town, but I know around here when someone gets a good deal, they make sure and let everyone know and then everyone thinks they should get the same deal. I have seen this in archery shops as well as tackle shops. Most of the time the archery shops got burned by setting up bows or adding accessories for free to some people and charging others. Word spreads fast and sometimes that hurts or helps business.
  16. I doubt I could pass a lie detector either, I just don't have anything to blame it on other than the fact that I simply don't lie so if I did, I'm sure it would show.
  17. I'm 39 years old and have never had a psych evaluation, but I am pretty sure I am OCD. LOL
  18. Flame suit on. I will never ask for a discount from a local business if they are at or very near what a major label is asking for an item. If I can get a Curado DC at BPS for $249 and the local shop wants $249, then I will pay the $249 at the local shop. Many times (maybe 99.9%) these guys aren't making nearly as much per item. My parents own a small business so I know what it is like for people to drive 30-40 miles to save a few bucks as opposed to shop local. I understand wanting to save a few bucks, but I just can't find it in my heart to try to get a "deal" from a small time shop. That being said, my opinion is probably skewed due to the fact that my parents are small business owners and have dealt with theft, vandalism, fraud, and of course big business moving in.
  19. You guys that put multiple treble hook baits in a tray make me want to scream. LOL
  20. Just like it is just as much a semi truck driver to look out for motorcycles, but unfortunately those motorcycle drivers think they can do what they want because they are on a motorcycle. I see groups of "bikers" all the time who ride the centerline with their foot hanging out as far as they can. I guarantee if I was on a bike, I would be as far from the centerline as possible. A gust of wind (especially here in Oklahoma) can sway a semi 1-2 feet. If the cocky biker rider isn't careful, he may lose a foot.
  21. I treat every vessel on the water the same. I am no longer a boater, but I was. If I'm on plane and a yak is in the main lake fishing a point, I will just keep going and stay as far away as possible (same as I would do with a bass boat). Most of the time people fishing out of a yak at least have a clue, it is the recreational people who don't even know what is going on. Those people don't get much respect from me for some of the things they have done.
  22. Look for the video of Jared Lintner where he reviews the DC and talks about it's skipping ability. I think it was a Tackle Warehouse video.
  23. I haven't used the SV but this post is spot on about the DC's ability to just set the brake and adjust the tension knob and bomb away.
  24. I said that at the beginning of the thread.
