  1. If you already have a 24V set-up, 80 lb would be a no brainer for me.
  2. Gears pop out????
  3. Well considering we have no clue what baits you are going to throw with it, here are my thoughts. If it has a single hook like a spinnerbait, chatterbait, jig, etc then I would go with the 12. Actually I use 15, but you didn't ask about that. If you are throwing a jerkbait, lipless, squarebill, etc. then I would go 10.
  4. That sounds like spinnerbait or chatterbait conditions to me.
  5. If you are currently running a 12V TM and you don't want to add an additional battery then I would just go with the 55. Otherwise, I would step up to the 80. I can't say I have ever heard any say they wish they would have bought less of a TM.
  6. I don't know if these are options for you, but I would find someone with a truck where you could plug the boat in to their truck to see if it works. Also, you could find someone with a trailer and plug theirs into your truck and see if they work. Finding the "problem" to chase would be the first thing I would do. I guess I should have added, that I would check the fuses in the truck first but I would assume they should be good on a new truck.
  7. There has never been a "weedless" bait made that has been able to be fished in the weeds I fish. I suppose weedless doesn't mean grass less though. Very misleading IMO.
  8. Knobs are very similar and I think both handles are 84 mm on the Curado 70 and the Met MGL. The handles are longer and the knobs are bigger on the 70/k MGL.
  9. I LOVE Big Bite Baits, but I have not had as much success with them as I have had with the Zoom. However, @Bluebasser86 is a hell of a fisherman so he can' be steering you wrong. I would guess it is like most things fishing related, we tend to use confidence baits more often.
  10. Handle diameter or length? Which Curado 70? The new MGL or the last version? I have the older Curado 70, the 70K MGL and the 20 Met JDM. I replace all my knobs with Power Grip II knobs, I did not like the Met knobs. That is a cheap and easy fix though. As far as handle length, it depends on the Curado model you have. All that being said, the 20 Met is an amazing reel but if you want to save a few bucks, the Curado 70K MGL is a great reel as well.
  11. I have never made a list of people I refused to ride in a boat with. I have one name on that list now.
  12. Well, there is no old Curado 70k, there is the Curado 70 which came in an HG and XG version and the new Curado 70K MGL. I have both and I use the Curado 70 HG to throw jrekbaits and it casts them really well.
  13. Dozens of them available.
  14. It will keep the honest folks honest though. Also, If the limit is 10 fish per person and a guide is letting his clients keep over the limit then the word will get out.
  15. Yea, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Dept. of Wildlife step in soon with new limits in place. Some crappie guides are booking morning and afternoon trips they are doing so well.
  16. In no way are you comparing apples to apples. A better comparison would be using rangefinders while hunting. Breaking the law is breaking the law whether it is using a spot light or keeping too many fish. People will do that regardless of the laws. I don't want to argue though. Just expressing my thoughts.

  18. That is why the state sets limits. You are comparing an advantage to an illegal activity, two totally different arguments.
  19. Yep, the crappie population is going to take a BIG hit! I think it is 39 per angler, per day in Oklahoma. There are a few well known crappie guides in OK that use Live Scope that are more than likely making a killing right now. Going to be interesting when they wipe the lakes out.
  20. I don't understand why anyone cares what other people do. If it isn't "sporting" to you to use a "live" version, then by all means don't use it. But don't knock those who do. As far as tournament fishing goes, as long as the health of the fish or the possible danger to participants isn't at risk, I don't think regulations are necessary.
  21. You guys keep it up and I might be in for a 2022 trip.
  22. I bought a cheap camera off of amazon to try and I got some good footage of a real nice fish. I then realized the software(or lack there of) for it made it almost impossible to do anything with. At least in my limited technological mind. I bought a GoPro Hero 5 or 6 to try out this year. The first time I took it out I only had 1 battery, it was dead in about 2 hours (maybe less as I waited to check it). I haven't been out since I ordered more batteries. I am just going to go with one now and mount it by my windshield. Might get another to wear if it seems like I am going to like it. One thing I did notice when I was watching footage of myself, I don't have the "made for camera" motions down yet. Got some nice footage of me tripping on the net, hooking one of my other rods with a jerkbait, almost falling in. I should start a Youtube channel of just me being a dummy.
  23. Yea, when you say something stupid you have to 1, hope no one quotes you and 2, realize it before the window to edit the post has expired.
  24. Try it in place first, if that doesn't work, take it down.
