Whenever there's schools of bait fish.
  2. I've only owned LTBs and Xtremes, and everyone knows St Croix power rating is a little higher then the "standard". How do Shimano rods compare to them, specifically the Crucial?
  3. Some football jigs from Northstar or Siebert Outdoors and some Netbait Paca Chunks.
  4. Both my sons have the spiderman ones and I respooled it with some micro braid so the fist don't break off.
  5. I hate those white fluffs that float on top of the water and get stuck in your guides and spool.
  6. I started fishing carp with my old man @ Toronto Island as a youngster. Coming from Europe he loves carp fishing, they're like our version of the bass over there.
  7. Nice, thanks for the feed back guys!
  8. I'm going to try paddle tails this year, I've been eyeing basstrix paddle tails for abit. Anyone have good luck with them or any other paddle tails for that matter? I'm looking for something around 4" that I can rig with a 4/0 1/8oz swimbait hook.
  9. Lol sorry everytime someone asks me irl what I'm using, I always refer back to the c rigged hula popper.
  10. Ya man, it works. Just make sure its the pink colored one.
  11. a carolina rigged Jitterbug.
  12. You cant go wrong with the Griffin Spider Vise, for under $100 its probably the best one out there. It will hold a 4/0 hook and it rotates, plus if any part break Griffin will replace it free. I'd recommend getting a heavy iron base for it too, but thats because I hate vises with C clamps because of how close the vise ends up being.
  13. I'm looking into buying one (Got a great deal) but I've read bad reviews, IE being uncomfortable and the bail smashing knuckles while reeling in. Anyone agree or disagree?
  14. You're letting to much paint spray out. Less is more.
  15. Maybe your guide should pay since he broke your rod.
  16. The quality and quantity was always there ut the main market was Japan until they've gained recent popularity with the North American market so BPS and other companies have been importing a lot more tof them.
  17. Whats wrong with throwing a xf rod into heavy weeds?
  18. The obly interest they charge is like 2 dollars ontop of each monthly payment.
  19. Owner Beast 4/0 for 4 inch, and Owner Beast 6/0 for 5.5 inch.
  20. As per popular demand Lake Simcoe, St Clair, Lake of the woods or Lake Erie. My personal favorite is a hidden gem like 99% of Ontario doesn't know about how good of a SMB fishery it is, called Lake Clear. http://www.omresort.ca/lakemap.htm
  21. I throw smaller swimbait (5inch basstrix pattle tails om a 4/0 1/8oz twistlock hook) on the exact same rod (LTB 71mhxf swimjig finesse) I use for my swimjigs (3/8oz hand tied jig w/ a menace or subwoofer trailer). The xf tip makes it easy to rip through the weeds where bait fish around the same size as the two baits hang out.
  22. Maybe some clear never slip bait tape?
  23. Good point, I guess the hook would just slide down as soon as you tried to set it.
