I prefer mag brakes when skipping and a good tip I can give you is turn your brake way up even if you can cast w/o any brakes on.

Its a EWG hook connected to a sinker with a split ring.

I doubt it - its not like its an electromagnet. So even if you turn the dial to off the magnets will still be trying to attract either a negative or positive pole.

In all honesty I hate when my reel and rod clash. Big reason I used higher end Abu reels until now.

The honeycomb holds about 70m of 12lb mono (same diameter of 15lb floro) that's what I was planning to use. The main reason is just because I wanted to customize the reel to get rid of all the red and change it to blue. You think I should be able to cast a 1/2 w/trailer atleast 30m with a stock core? *Edit get rid of the red so it would match my St Croix

Save yourself another $40 and get a Veritas and Revo S, you will not have any regrets.

If you have an old rod you can take the tip top off of, heat it up with a lighter and take it off. Get some epoxy and put it back onto your rod you want to fix.

Agreed, but all the finesse fishing I do is with a baitcaster, besides DS. I use super shallow spooled baitcasters for everything else finesse.

A lot of tips people give are what works for them, that doesn't necessarily mean it will work for the next guy.

IMO the ALT isn't anything special, but the ltx is a thing of beauty I own one swell as an ltz
