  1. this is why i didnt pick up a carrot stick for the wife when she wanted one.. if everyone likes it for the looks go with the Lamiglas Excel like i did... great rod and looks almost identical
  2. lol i assume 2 blue would be close to the same as 2 white... maybe alittle better... the directions say once you go over 5/8 oz to turn on 2 white with the 2 blue but ive thrown heavier stuff without changing and have done just fine using my thumb alittle
  3. i may have to try that, mines still set factory with only the 2 blue ones on.. its casts a mile the way it is lol ... cant imagine more distance
  4. i know you can fish below it on down farther just past the mill.. he had told me that i could fish just below the dam while he was there once or twice, he said there was a hog largemouth there thats been hooked but never landed by him and another person...
  5. you can still fish right there where the parking lot is, you cant go down by the mill right under the falls... the sign you kinda see says something about no trespassing after dark... it says fishing there is a privilege etc and has rules for the area... i go there all the time with the wife and have never been told your not allowed to fish there anymore..past 2 years or so... the owner was in the hospital for a good while, he had triple bypass surgery.. theres an old guy that was watching his property that comes down there on a golf cart and talks to us every once in a while .... there were a few people there when i went yesterday...
  6. nice one.... where did you go?
  7. yea i thought i hooked a log at first...lol
  8. so i stopped over at kemps mill while my wife was helping her cousin do birthday cakes for her kids and hooked up with this chunk , in my excitement i forgot to weigh it or measure the lenth.. id say its easily 4lbs 18+ inches....
  9. its all good man, i know not everyone feels the same about everything and has different views or opinions on certain products.. i remember reading a thread of a guy who purchased a bb1 and had trouble casting far and multiple birdnesting... some peoples problems could be user error or an actual defect .. its hard to tell... but its like the old saying, You can't please everyone..
  10. a dud? SMH...... i dunno where your getting your "reports" from but i never saw anything stating anything like that when i was researching bb1 before i picked one up... if your a seasoned baitcaster you should be able to find a sweet spot for everything on it without having to change anything except spool tension... ive thrown heavier lures without changing the pins just using my thumb and had zero issues with braking or overspooling..sounds to me that you dont want to like anything lews... just an impression i get, maybe im wrong
  11. not quite sure what your tying to say, but on the bb1 you you do change the pins on the braking system for heavier weight lures.. and i i wouldnt say old school or little to no brakes, the braking system on this works quite well and def isnt light and is quite well designed.. do you have any experience first hand with the bb1?
  12. i love my BB1 , mine is still set to factory out of the box, ive used up to 1/2 ounce lures and can cast them a mile... i was out last week with a buddy of mine who has a similar setup with the new revo SX and i was easily out casting him 15-20 feet.. using similar weight lures but i was using 10lb test to his 8lb...
  13. im gonna have to check out some of these area's, ive never fished in or around frederick, but i know there are some nice area's up that way
  14. i need to find some good spots up near fred, ive never fished up around there
  15. no its a brand new revo3 sx, bought less than 2 weeks ago and used maybe once... the bb1 just casts farther.. i had 2 brand new revo3 sx's that i returned and switched to lew's ... couldnt be happier!
  16. i love my BB1, i returned the new revo sx to get the lews... it far outcasts the revo and is much smoother... I was out with a buddie the other day who has a new revo3 sx and i was easily outcasting him 15-20 feet... he was kinda like I don't understand, how are you casting so much farther lol
  17. nice... i may go to the april and may heat for that event

  20. i couldnt get any good bites, caught a fall fish on a lipless strike king sexy shad... next day took the wife out and couldnt get anything on artificial baits, the wife was using nightcrawlers knocking down fall fish one after another... i used her rod for alittle and caught close to a dozen fall fish in around 30 mins...lol
