where else have you gone in a canoe? ive always heard big slack is not the best area to fish on the river.. have to tried river bottom or shooting up the Conococheague ? i heard theres a boat ramp by KOA you can put in the jig, theres some decent smallmouth fishing there

ive been to rainbow lake once, saw big fish swimming around but it was hot and the middle of the day.. also i read up and your suppose to get a (free) permit from the city to fish there... ive been wanting to go back and try to catch some hogs there.. i think fishing could be really good there

id start using a a leader then and see if you can catch um again

i think the 150 just holds more line... if you like quantum , check local dicks sporting goods, i picked up a year or 2 old model quantum energy Pt,, the one with the burnt titanium accents... got it for $74 on clearance.. not bad for a reel that was $199... tackle warehouse still selling it also.. they have it for $128.. id say its alot like the smoke... its casts smooth and you can bomb lures pretty far.........Id post a link to tackle warehouse , for for some BS reason is says the admins do not allow links from that site

i can throw light baits on my revo stx just fine.. how long have you had your black max? i noticed that my stx casted better/farther after i oiled the bearings ... if you were closer to me id say id take a look at it for you, not quite sure how far rigdley is from me

i know this is older, but i have a dumb question which way is off and which way is on? i called abu because after a few weeks my stx seems to not be casting as far.. they told me that push in is off and pulled out is on.. which if that is correct i think is backwords from my lews bb1.. the owners manual doesnt tell you jack so im trying to get a accurate answer

several people on here dont account for "tons" ...... for as many people that have had issues with their revo3 there are many many more that havent.. i love my stx, its super smooth and can cast lighter lures than my lews BB1, which is one reason i went with it over the tourney pro.. im not a big fan of okuma baitcasters.. bought the wife a surrano and it wasnt smooth at all and didnt cast very well... the helios may be different but what i would do is find someone local who has both and cast and retrieve each one and see which you like
