  1. Unless Wayne edited his post I dont see where he said anything but helpful info or was trying to get more info to help you decide. He said "The Lowrance DSI unit is DOWN SCAN ONLY" in caps because it is very important because a Di only unit is pretty useless without 2d also IMO.
  2. Guy by me builds alot of electric boats. I think he starts with Rhino hulls. He uses an electric outboard that gets the boats on plane!! Pretty impressive but i'm sure not cheap. I would consider a four battery 24v setup in a boat that size. And remember you wont be on full throttle the whole time.
  3. UM is best prices on HB. PM me if you want the full name and rebate details. I just ordered a Raymarine Dragonfly. Looks really good if you dont need Si. PM me if you want to know cheapest deal on them. (under $600) I have no affiliation with either place.
  4. I also have been using jigs this spring. Best time to learn on them I feels as the fish will bite anything so you get confidence and learn what the bite feels like. I have started with 1/4 oz jigs in shallower water. The lighter jig is ALOT easier to learn on IME.
  5. Does not matter to the fish but use a sharpie if you must.
  6. Yes the way you rigged it does sound interesting and inovative. Did the blade spin or wobble more like a spoon?. There are so many post on what's your favorite "fill in the blank"
  7. I have been fishing them like jerkbaits this spring with good results.
  8. Bend the R bend wire (..032-035 should be good) or buy pre-bent. The right side arm is where your blade/blades go. Leave the left arm wire straight and slide bullet weight or bullet weight with a collar for a normal skirt (if you can find them) up on wire. Bend the circle (horizontal and not as shown) and insert hook. Slide weight down to close the loop.
  9. I sent out baits for "testing" once and hardly any body reported back
  10. Cool spinnerbait and great fish. Actually would not be that hard to make. The Megastrike Strike Back has this design. http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/strikeback-spinnerbait/
  11. Craw imitation or deeper water hook outside. Shallower water and more of a swimming baitfish imitation internal weight.
  12. Used the squarebills today. I used the RGD1 (about 3') and RGD2 (about 5'). Both performed and suspended great. Was fishing a new lake today and fishing was tough although the water was high 50's. Only fish caught was a 2pound on an LC Pointer 100 and a 2.5 pound on the Baker RGD2. Both fish hit hard while suspending and still. Nothing on jigs, Senko, spinnerbait, swimbait, etc. So to sum up I like these baits and will throw them again, especially next winter. Good deal for $5
  13. Well like I said, I fish alot and my thumb starts to hurt from lipping too many
  14. Like Marty said, when the bass are biting your confidence baits is when you want to throw something different to get confisence in that.
  15. Nice Zoff. What size tank? I have five tanks with Central and South American Cichlids. Used to have a 150 gal with a 2 pound bass in it. I would actually catch him with a a rod and reel and lure in the tank LOL
  16. I got them at another site.com. If you order, have them check the inventory on the squarebills and make sure they have rattles LOL.
  17. OK. So Baker sent me new squarebills to replace the ones that didnt suspend. Well apparenty the first ones I got were made wrong and had NO rattles. These replacements have rattles and suspend well in my fish tank. So now I have rattling square bills that suspend and look great. Anxious to try them out tommorow.
  18. I have Rayban wrap around frames that are 3 years old now. Grey lens and polarized of course. Although not that expensive (at the time) is was the best investment I ever made. The glare reduction off the car dash is awesome.
  19. I like them any time of year in shallow weedy water or for bass schoolin and bustin shad
  20. I fish nearly everyday so I can experiment a lot If I had limited fishing time or tourney, I would try to catch them any way I could.
  21. Went to a different lake today. No shallow water bite at all so jigs and Senko did not work. Pulled off the bank a little and got a few on an LC Staysee. I am getting there
  22. I was getting them with a pointer this winter when water was cooler. Now they mainly seem to be real shallow in a foot or two of water I rigged up some Rage rigs and want to try that too with Rage craw and twin tail spider grub.
  23. My wording in the title is misleading. I should have stated that in my experience I found Power Pro 20# braid to be very abrasion resistance. Obviously others have not found this to be true. Sorry for the confusion.
