  1. I'm a firm believer in having your be eleven "football players" on the field. If he goes to a tea, with any kind of quarterback, Tim Teboanother sites still one of the best eleven. I'd say he is a very talent athlete and a great football mind. His passing concerns me. I'd want him on the field in some capacity if he was on my team.
  2. And remember this : the better you get at skipping that lure all the way to the back without making alot of splash the more fish you will catch.
  3. Absolutely, my two weeks ago all of my fish came in shallow water and 6 out of 9 fish came from boat docks. I have pitch about everything in the world under a dock but my most productive baits are jigs, finesse jigs, and t rigged plastics. And that is through out the entire year Remember this and it is very simple, bass will ALWAYS relate to cover. Even when it's cold and they are typically in deeper water they will move to cover that is near by. Example if you have a couple docks at 6 ft deep but it is near the main creek channel it has a higher probability of holding fish. It doesn't have to be a channel, but deep water near by is something I'm looking for. I fish lake gaston nc so being a good dock fisherman is almost a requirement.
  4. If i was to go through all that then i would get some of my dads old bagley B's and send them off..lol the old ones were amazing.
  5. Make tebow a running back, fullback, or a tightend. I have pulled for the guy and i think he is a standup guy, but sadly he is not a nfl caliber quarterback. It would be really cool if he would go to jacksonville as a RB/FB.
  6. When i bought the zillion 7:1 reel a couple years ago, the man at the store said its best used for taking up slack quickly when pitching heavy cover so u could set the hook. He said its also for getting the fish out of the slop and cover quickly. I guess it could be good for a buzz bait or zoom horny toad, but ive found that if i keep my rod up when the baut lands i can get it on top almost instantly.. overall i think 7:1 is fast enough. I wont go out of my way to get an 8:1 unless it is an absolute steal!
  7. Ok that will be what I do. I'm going to search it now. Thanks. I don't have any craks or anything
  8. On a different note, i just saw where the jacksonviille Jags just fired Mike Murlarkey after one season. Im not saying that Blain Gabbert is good or great QB, but it seems that his potential is going down the toilet. He is gonna have his thrid head coach and thrid offensive coordinator in three seasons...same thing happened to Alex Smith. I hate it for the yyoung man, he is struggling as it is before these constant changes.
  9. I have tried Snelling a straight hook for flipping, but it is not an easy knot for me to learn. Its a pain so If I'm flipping with braid ill use the knot I described above . Anybody else here snell their hooks?
  10. What is the name of the knot, it's just like the improved clinch knot except you go through the eye of the hook twice and when u come back u slide throught both loops. I think I have heard it. Called the Trilene knot, and the braid knot. I use that knot for floro and braid. It, has not let me down yet.. Except for the once or twice that I was tying it too fast and messed up.
  11. The work. The reason I ask, is I can see my self needing similar work in a few years. I keep mine covered and a coat of wax every couple months but I since I don't have indoor storage anymore, I noticed more fading and small spots.. Mine, ( pictured above). Still looks great, I just want to keep it that way. And if that means getting work done in a few years then so be it. Feel free to pm me if you want to put that stuff up here
  12. Tackle junkie here too. I like having similar equipment, but if another brand has the length, power, or combination of everything I want, then I will get it. Flipping and pitching was right though, I am more like that with rods than reels.
  13. Carbon light on KVD rod. Have you thought about a slower gear ratio for your Rick Clunn cranking rod? Alot of people pick a 5:1 for deep and med cranking. I tend to use 6:1 for shallow runners. That why I say put ur carbonlight on KVD rod so u can address issue of gear ratio. It you use that rod for all of your cranking a 5:1 might be a little better but you can certainly get by with a 6:1. I'm impartial but I say take a look at the Lews tournament, or Lews bb1
  14. That's pretty right there! I don't even want to know what that cost.
  15. I have not ever used these but it,worth a try if that area is "eating weights". Owner jig rig. You can get it in 5/0 and 1/4 oz
  16. I love the way the fat john wobbles, I just hate that their color selection is limited
  17. Te KVD 2.5 blue gill is a big producer for me in the spring and late fall. You are right, its heavy enough to sling a mile. It's bigger profile makes it a great, big fish bait.
  18. I already picked Rick Clunn and Gerald Swimdle, I forgot a good one to mention that I think is under rated and is right here in my home state of NC, I think I would really enjoy a day on the boat with Marty Stone. He has alot of TW videos, but there are alot of videos of him teaching different bass clubs. He seems really down to earth.
  19. Question, is when you gonna get the new on wet? I remember the day I bought mine, it wasn't until 6pm (September) that we finally drove it away...we made a stop by the house grabs some rods, two boxes of lures, and two pepsi colas, and we drove to the ramp. We only had about an hour an a half of day light...but I was, like a little kid on Christmas morning..lol
  20. I'm glad some else finally said Spro little johns.
  21. 7MHFast, is pretty much a rod that can perform alot of different techniques. T-rigs, jigs, spinner baits, big top waters, ...
  22. I don't think it's fair to not classify those three as scramblers just because they did so well at moving in the pocket and then getting the ball out of their hands.
  23. John Elway wasn't Michael Vick but was pretty light on his toes. Aaron Rogers is mobile, a lot of the time he doesn't have to, but he can flat out move. And I'm not sure if you classify Big Ben
  24. Carrot stix are fragile and I've heard that their customer service is a nightmare. Nix the carrot stix. Veritas, good rods for the money, they are super light rods, but as a former Daiwa guy, I'd say they are step down from the light and tough ( veritas is much lighter tho). Veritas is a good rod tho, I have 1. I'd recommend that you look and research Powell, dobbyns, duckett, or the Shimano crucials. All very good and well respected rods. Most of my old daiwa and castaways are now Powell.
  25. I fish mostly with Lews Tournament Pro or Lews Tournament reels..but I do have a reg Lews speed spool that is 99.99 and they are awesome..you can get them in 5.4:1 I bought that exceller before I got my first Lews tp, now I'm hooked on them,..
