  1. There are probably better options out there but I have Daiwa Exceller with 4.9:1. You can get them for 79.00. I use it for deep cranks. They are pretty rugged reels. Im not gonna call it bullet proof but it is pretty dang tough and i think it is a great reel for the moneyy.
  2. Congrats i hope it serves you well
  3. Patriarch is on sale right now at bps for 140.

This is great. Smithwick is a staple in the industry. I have never met a serious bass fisherman that didn't have a rogue In his box somewhere.
  5. Fly fisher I hope you are wrong. You are right tho, he does have so e diva to him. I do think he has matured a little bit this year. He is still young. But I will say this this about Cam Newton, the sky is the limit for him, the key to unlocking his potential is is in his head. If and when he ever gets his head and heart in the same place as his physical skills, he's going be something like we have never seen. I think we have already seen flashes. With that said, I see very similar potential in RG3, luck, and R. wilson
  6. Thanks J Francho, already ordered a Stradic FJ 2500 about 45 mins ago. I think it will be more than enough. I like Lew bait bast cast reels, but it hard to argue with Shimano spinning reels. They just have that kind of reputation.
  7. Flacco a top 10 QB? Maybe, elite, NO. Not yet. Do you guys see Cam Newton as Elite QB in the next 3-5 years.

Spro BBZ 4" shad. And strike wake shad are producers for me.
  9. Typically it does last a lot longer.
  10. Wow. For 650, it better include a lifetime supply of 5 fish limits. This link has a list of rod builders in FL http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/36518-can-anyone-recommend-a-custom-bass-rod-builder-in-south-florida/
  11. Yeah it was. Thanks. EBay can be the ticket sometimes.
  12. I just found a Shimano Stradic FJ 2500 on eBay for 137.50 plus 7.50 shipping. Needless to say I went ahead and purchased it. Thanks guys.
  13. Almost forgot, reel will be going a Powell Endurance 7'1" Med Light XF
  14. Hey guys, I bought a new drop shot rod, just before Christmas and now it's time to sit down and order a reel. I've been using the same two spinning reels for over ten years on my other two spinning rods. Abu Cardinals. I am satisfied with them although they are not exactly works of art, and they aren't as smooth as newer stuff or much more expensive reels. I am not tied to any one brand on spinning reel. I do use Lews baitcasters and I have a revoS and a couple old shimano curados. So I am open to anything for the spinning reel and it doesn't have to be the products at the top of my price range. Price range 150 max. Intended use - drop shots Line wanted to use - 10 -20 lb braid Any other input would be helpful. Thanks guys.
  15. What they are doing is an alternative to using chemicals that leave the dead weeds where they are. If you are a fan of the weeds, then you be at ease knowing two things. They will grow back eventually and the manual removal of undesired emergent weeds or submerged weeds is much more expensive that paying a lake management company to come spray it.
  16. I am Powell guy and own several of their rod and i a, more than satisfied. And although I don't own a Dobbyns rod, I am a fan of them simple because Mr. Dobbyns has brought so much to our sport and he makes a great rod. All that said, I'm going to go for the 7'6" MH mod St. Croix Legend Extreme... After all money is no object.
  17. Welcome! Good to have you
  18. Check out you local surplus store. My younger brother uses his USMC backpacks. They switched to another back pack last year and a lot of the marines gave him their old ones. He uses them for everything from hunting, fishing, traveling and so on.
  19. It's nice any time you can call for simple questions and speak to the owner of the company. I bet that was informative! Good luck with your new rods. That's why I continue to move forward buying from small companies like Powell whenever I can.
  20. Id love to ask him to keep saying "troll", "Rapala" and "flipping". LMAO
  21. Idk but if there is a 3.5 I wanna try one
  22. Maybe you can try skipping the bait into cover, you may have to angle you canoe so that your right hand is able to side arm the roll cast the to the target and skip it in to the cover. I have to do that when I do pond fish. My pond boat is not stable enough for to stand up either.
