  1. A shorter all purpose heavy would be the best bet. Theres alot of heavy action 7 foot to 7'3 out there that pull double duty for anything and can pretty much be your rod to handle your heavier lures.
  2. The mark up is unreal.
  3. Those 50 e feels are classic that will last a long time. ?
  4. That's good eating
  5. That's who he was asking about 139 is what I paid for mine years ago...I was sure 139 is what I saw last but still 149 isnt bad
  6. Hes not responding because hes probably busy typing in his mailing info and card number....#sold
  7. I havent ordered from them in a few years, but I have been ordering from them for 8 or so years. I have bought ALL 6 of my lews TPs from them. I have ordered rods and other stuff from them. They are good to deal with and I havent had any hiccups with shipping. They routinely keep good prices on Lews and other brands. Alot of time they have free shipping too! They used to have those reels for 139.. but I think the MSRP have went up by 10 bucks since 2013 and 2014.
  8. I was going to ask the same thing, bring hook point all the way out and then just barely go in to surface of lure. 2/0 will work but you can also go up in size to a 3/0 ewg. If those things arent the cause, it could be fish just barely moving it off the bed. Thst happens some this time of year. But I would def check my rigging. If you are getting bit but not getting the hook stuck, try wacky rigging the senko. That should increase the hook up ratio.
  9. I never could get too much in to BIG swim baits. It gets expensive quick... but they are home run hitters.
  10. That's sweet derek. Hope it catches fish
  11. Welcome!
  12. To the original poster, you can find these rods on Ebay and Amazon for 139. With free shipping. I just ordered the 7-1 heavy fast action from amazon for 109. There are still some left.
  13. Brand and model is completely subjective and based one your personal wants and restrictions price. Basically your gonna get alot of answers here. Most of us are gonna suggest a 6'6 to 7''6 rod either in MH or in H length is gonna depend on what you are comfortable pitching and skipping. Most are telling you 7ft, it's in the middle. Power of the rod is something you can figure out easy, if you have alot of docks, heavy cover, or even dense vegetation where you will be tossing these jigs, you can step up to q heavy. I like using a heavy especially under socks, cuz after you stick that fish, you need to turn that fish and pull them out before they get you wrapped up. ( and we have heavy hydrillia everywhere) All that being said. My personal jig rod is a powell 704, (7-0 heavy and it also serves as a big topwater rod) alot of times, I'll tie a jig on a 733 (mh) or 703 rod if I cant get away with it. I just bought a Tatula 7-1 heavy. All that being said, go as light with the rod as your circumstances and comfort will allow. But if you get the heavy rod, there plenty other things to use it for too
  14. I hate to toot my own horn but I called that one. Now here's hoping that the young man will stay healthy.
  15. Well, I found the rod to wear the first of the Origin C's. Found a heck of a steal. TATULA 7'1 Heavy. I'm pretty excited. I've already got a pretty full line up, but it will find it's way in as a jig rod and frogs and heavy topwaters and such. I almost pulled the trigger on a 6'3 Tatula just for skipping and pin point casts with lighter lures. I have an old pixy that would look good on it. If its still on sale in a couple weeks I'm probably going to give it a new home.
  16. Awesome. Still praying for continued recovery.
  17. Oh yeah. I have several of them and a few of the max rods. The stripers are running right now. Fun to catch. I was hope for a green fish, but that's what I caught.
  18. Origin C was a success. Spoiled one up with 12 lb floro, and paired it up with an old 703 endurance rod and made a ton of casts throwing a Kietech on a 1/4 and ounce head and then 3/8 Spinnerbait. It casted really well, retrieve was smooth. Still needs some breaking in time. Caught 2 strippers that were over a couple lbs each. I definitely can't base.a.review off of two hours but, that all I need to say I was fairly impressed. No complaints over the drag or breaks. Drag was smooth. Was able to turn the breaks down to 3 after first hour pr.so if getting used to it. Even at full price it's a good reel. I had a second rod an endurance 724 with a Lews Tp throwing same baits and I didn't see a huge drop off in performance by the Origin c.
  19. Carolina needs OL,DT, Db, and attempt to find someone to replace luke keuchely at middle linebacker.
  20. Dumping him didnt save them any money. As long as gronk stayed retired they dont have to pay the last year of his deal. They got extra pics outta the deal.
  21. Bubba shotting is drop shotting only upsized alit heavier and alot bigger bait
  22. I too have learned the hard way. Now I just consider it regular preventative maintenance
  23. Any color you want as long as its black.
