  1. don't really have a favorite lure
  2. i would try to borrow one from a friend or demo from a dealer before you pull the trigger. just that way you can make sure you would enjoy it before diving right in... i absolutely love fishing from my kayak
  3. welcome from another kayak fisher
  4. i like that kicker shad clayton!! the crappie one is cool as well, i don't use that pattern much, but would give it a shot!
  5. i think i still have some speed clips around.... you may make me re-visit the situation with this whole slide them in rather than squeeze them scenario....
  6. i know those missed casts are more frequent than the money balls.... but when you nail one like your buddy did, you just hope to be rewarded! you know how it is, can be tough to nail that spot from the yak sometimes. gonna have to get myself a stakeout pole.... nice footage on the video, looking forward to another one.
  7. jay, what kind/length is that stakeout pole do you use? looks like a yak attack and that cast @ 2:25, man you make that cast and you're supposed to catch a fish..... nice river catches.
  8. maybe just me, but sometimes i find them more difficult to fool with than just tying a quick palomar knot....
  9. d**n man.... i thought he was a wealth of knowledge when it came to reels and reel repair..... thoughts go out to his family.
  10. arky styles are great, but my favorites are the mata dredge series... i like the 1/4oz, add a fat trailer and catch fish. also really like his finesse jigs, pbj/smoke color.
  11. i've never done it and i bet the excitement you and your son shared will be enough to last a lifetime!
  12. nice fish, get another one!
  13. get great pics and great measurements and put it back in the water. get a replica mount if you want one, let that fish go for another day another pound....
  14. caught like an 8 lb carp one time on a 5' ultra light setup with 4 or 6 lb line that was fun. aside from that i caught a gar one time and had no idea how i was going to get the hook out left my net and grippers at the house that day.... got it right up to the kayak and for the first time smiled from ear to ear when the fish spit my crank bait into my kayak....
  15. would agree about maybe trying a 9 or 10" worm to step up the size a bit and boost the confidence level in terms of them biting bigger worms. if you're still catching them, i'd keep throwing that mann's worm and wait for the bigger bite to come along
  16. i'm just glad to hear the bbq was ok....
  17. very cool.... if you'd turned that lure and swiped along side the boat one time it likely would have crashed it right there at the boat... happens quite a bit on the kayak, i try to always take a swipe backwards at the yak just before bringing a moving bait in... a lot of times that might make a follower commit just out of a traffic jam type reaction
  18. man if i had the money to burn i would be unwrapping new rods for days..... those are some sweet prices
  19. great answer right here....
  20. big bluegills for sure! and nice looking bass.
