Asking For A Raise
my only advice would be to make the conversation solely about yourself, your accolades and your values. DO NOT let it venture into the "I'm better than this guy because....." area because that is the dark side of the moon for these conversations....

Ever Call Out Sick To Go Fishing?
just thinking about every time i skipped high school..... literally every time something would happen. wrecked a truck once, blew a tire once, got caught at the bowling alley by a family member, ran out of gas 4 wheeling, just too many times it happened!!!

Strange Find
you guys realize he said it was floating in the lake, stained as though it was there a while? honestly, the guy that dumped it off the boat into the lake (A.K.A. littering) would be the bigger jackass here.... to the OP, i agree completely with posting a note and giving it a few weeks at least to see if someone claims it. as bluebasser suggested be vague so that one must describe the bag exactly, but i would at least make an effort to get it back to the owner. i know i've done some dumb things before and would be absolutely crushed if this were one of them..... now if no people come forward to claim it i would double down on the good karma and find a youth or new fisherman in need and supply them with what you found in an effort to "pay it forward"

Frog Set Up And All Around Set Up
just a third for spending more on the all around set up. I think one could easily get a quality frog set up for $200 and be able to put the other 300-350 towards an all around set up. Daiwa tatula reels would be my suggestion and they can be found online around the $100 mark (that's new in box) good luck, in my opinion you have plenty of budget to fit the needs....

Why Does It Matter If The Box Is Included?
i would never get bent on not having the box..... i get mad at the wife unit because she is what i call a box hoarder. funny enough though i know for a fact i have like 4 or 5 reel boxes in my garage! i guess for me it's just where i keep the schematics that came with the reel, sure i could use a file or another system, but i guess i just don't think about it. but it would NEVER impact my decision on whether or not to buy a reel..... even the schematics can be found online in most cases so just the reel in perfect working order would be my only demand.

New Dog
^^^ it does help to be informed on the topic..... a fenced yard is not going to provide the exercise and socialization that a dog needs to survive in a house. secondly, those who think crating a dog is torture should really read up on the subject or maybe even discuss with dog owners who crate their pups. but why take my word for it when you can refer to the Humane Society's thoughts on the matter: http://www.humanesociety.org/animals/dogs/tips/crate_training.html

What ? No Beer ???
it can be tough, but your head is in the right place man. 5.5 years no cigs for me after smoking heavy for about 7 or 8 years. i don't drink that much (beer or wine = instant migraine) but i'll take a crown royal/sprite on occasion or a few margaritas on vacation or something. i have other areas though that i find that same "release" others are looking for. unfortunately my "drink of choice" is only legal in a couple of states at the moment......

if they were "grown men" i'm just going to say they likely don't take your advice too well. i would anticipate about what slonezp described perhaps worse with three of them

Starting A Bass Fishing Club At My College! Need Huge Help!
Don't know that I can help address those specific questions. However one area you may focus on would be the club's impact off the water. By that I mean community events, fundraisers and community service projects. This shows you are thinking big picture. Also, this project should help you out down the line if you ever try to get a business or project off the ground. I wish you much luck.

New Dog
oddly enough, dogs do not mind a crate. so long as you get them used to it while they are young. as they get old, they may associate it with a punishment or timeout so to speak. dogs (though long time domesticated) come from a history of "den" animals. that crate that you see as torture is actually a very comfortable and relaxed space for a dog, almost like a child's own personal bedroom. i have always crate trained every dog i've owned. i come to find that after a short period of putting them in there, you will come to find they go in there on their own. my old jack russell would immediately run into his crate the moment i picked up my car keys, not a single word would need to be spoken! my dog now is some sort of mini golden retriever mutt and i will find him just lounging in his crate with the door wide open sometimes. not to mention OP, your girlfriend will not be happy if her stuff gets chewed or torn up. you can guarantee that will not happen by crate training the dog. and retiredbosn is on point with his reply.... any dog can truly survive in an apartment setting, it solely depends on how much you exercise and engage the dog. and as he stated, simply having a yard will not do the trick. socializing and walking the neighborhood or throwing a ball around go a long ways in your furry friend's eyes.... either way good luck and understand the commitment, as hard as it may be at times, i've found nothing more rewarding/loyal/entertaining than my dog!

Arashi Wake Issues
don't have an arashi wake, but the other arashi's i have the only complaint from me is the hooks are poor quality.... had 2 of them bend out on a stump from barely pulling on it while the hook was lodged in the wood... just saying to check the hooks on it in case it does entice the right fish!

Installing Anchor Trolley On Lure 10 Or 11.5 Kayak
OP, whatever you do, my only suggestion really is to take that thing out fishing a number of times before you start rigging it up. it is a constant evolution and you don't want anything too permanent until you're dead set on the location. just my experience anyways....

Installing Anchor Trolley On Lure 10 Or 11.5 Kayak
i don't think you're going to find any/many notes specific to your model. BUT my only advice is to get it as high on the kayak as you can, otherwise the rope and pulleys will be submerged when you enter water. and i would think long and hard about what side of the yak to put it on. on my first yak, i put it on my right side and wished every day after it was on my left....

Should Your Guide Be Fishing?
I think it's fair to ask the guide up front if they are teaching you how to catch fish or if they are driving you around to hot spots to catch fish. because frankly i would have just assumed that hiring a guide was about hiring someone to put you on fish. for me, it would generally only be a scenario where i've never fished that lake before and wouldn't have a chance to fish it again so a guide would maximize my time. lesson learned from this post though about all the questions to ask a guide before you settle on one.
