  1. welcome man, great first post! hope you enjoy the new combos, i'm a big fan of lew's casting reels (have 4 now) and pflueger spinning reels (have 3 now) and also have 2 lightning shock rods. so i feel qualified to tell you that you're going to like them!!
  2. nice catch there jeff! hard to beat the riviera down there, real taste of paradise!
  3. i'd have no problems using it for backing, but i don't know on the mainline. i'd rather spend a couple more bucks and pick up some big game.
  4. they were on there yesterday, but not even listed on the site anymore. they probably flushed out what inventory they had.
  5. that's great man! i'm fishing with my old man and my brother this sunday on the river and can't wait! always a good time. glad you got to get him out there and get his mind right on the fishing!
  6. i'm pretty sure they're so focused on that bait that yours doesn't stand much of a chance. it can be so aggravating too. if anything, i'll try to throw something that's just way off of what the bait should look like and hope to get a bite on that. sometimes it's a bubblegum fluke or senko just to try to stand out in the crowd so to speak.
  7. man i just knew i was going to win that one!!! just like my lotto tickets, big let down!
  8. ain't no brother of mine Darren!! i've no disrespect, but i certainly don't like them either. i think i hit this guy the day before when i was mowing the yard because he was already dead and looked to be cut in his mid-section. it looked like a tiny little baby guy so i won't be surprised to see some more somewhere around the place.
  9. that's cool. you mind posting a pic or two of what you've made with it? just curious what you can do with that....
  10. very nice man! looks like a really nice peaceful little spot there!
  11. catching some studs there Will! nice report as usual.
  12. close.... i spoke to a specialist it's a rattle cobra copper coral moccasin mamba. not too dangerous from what he said.... local to Marietta area so look out while mowing the yard!
  13. yes they flat out work! i like them wacky rigged. if the water is muddy or stained try you a darker color like black or junebug.
  14. nice going!! crazy how different the first lake looks from the second in terms of water clarity...
  15. you're right about not being limited to the youtube it's on the tube tube too.... fishing with Roland can be a 30 minute infomercial sometimes. there's also another one that's on both tubes, chad hoover the "kayak bass fishing godsend".... if i were ever captured by foreign invaders and subjected to some sort of inhumane war tactics, it would be chad hoover on a 24 hour loop. give me the jumper cables, the water boarding, hot oil or the rack but PLEASE no chad......
  16. i think we can all agree on one thing.... i jumped back and ran away like a little girl..... from these GA snake pics, looks like it's likely either a brown snake or brown watersnake http://srelherp.uga.edu/snakes/nersip.htm http://srelherp.uga.edu/snakes/nertax.htm
  17. anywhere from 10-20lb braid would be my suggestion for a spinning reel. i'm right in the middle of that range with 15lb on my pflueger patriarch spinning reel.
  18. It was really small and already dead when i found it, i zoomed in quite a bit. Just wondering if someone can help identify?
  19. came here to say this..... they float very well and make one mean jig trailer too. they're also surprisingly durable on the body, but the craws can get ripped off fairly easy.
  20. they just showed Ott Defoe on the live segment doing something kind of sort of similar it looked like. he was saying spots had to be 12" and largemouths 14". he was saying his largemouth was right at 14, but might be a hair short so he kept the 2 oz smaller fish (a 13" spot) because he said he wanted to be absolutely sure to have the keeper size and not end up with his largemouth being scored under 14".
  21. i would probably invite me down there and tag team it because you know 2 heads are better than 1.... seriously that is one sweet looking setup you got there man! i'd be fishing a jig til my arms fell off with all the timber in there!
  22. just put in an order for some jig heads with you Mike, thanks for the discount! Looking forward to trying out the dock rocker heads.
  23. i know 100% how that goes man... glad you're back in the saddle again!
  24. sent the pic to my pops and his response "What a belly on that thang! Looks like it swallered a squirrel..."
