  7. nice catch man, right in the corner of the mouth!
  8. i'm not sure what these worms are called, but look close to this one in the pic. they're all over the leaves on trees in summertime. anyways, when they're out, the smallmouth in the little tennessee river CRUSH these things, i mean it! Throw one out on a hook and a sliding egg sinker and sit back and wait for your line to start peeling off. if you run out of the real worms, those beetle spins in that same color you pictured are a close #2 to the real thing. always got to have a couple of them on hand for backups when the real worms are gone (yes i know, enter the i only fish artificial lures comments here ____)
  9. overstockbait has some solid deals on soft plastics right now for .99/1.99/2.99

  11. nice catches and great pics man!
  12. i like the uni to uni, but team9 is right on in saying the best one is the one you tie best
  13. Mike, where does one find this central vacuum pipe (not in bulk qty)? Sorry OP if this is derailing your thread here, but it might help too
  14. ok, did not see that! if it fits your criteria, i'd say go for it man! even if you don't like it, i think you'd get your money back without much effort...
  15. I use PVC (need to find out where to get the "thin wall" all i can find is the schedule 40 at the hardware stores), tape the butt of the rod to the cap/outside so that the tip doesn't slide down and break. use bubble wrap on the tip, butt and a couple spots in between. never had an issue doing that. and i use A LOT of duct tape to tape the ends up whether i use a cap or just a cardboard piece to cover the hole, LOTS of duct tape. cardboard tubes work, but i've had 2 of them arrive in separate pieces taped back together by the shipping company (UPS and FedEx). one way to make it slightly cheaper with fedex i know is to ship to a business rather than a residence. so like the person's place of work if that's an option, can save a few dollars there. my mind is blown sometimes with the variance in price.... i once paid more to ship a rod in state (GA to GA) than across the country (CA and OR)!! really depends on how remote the recipient is as to how much more they seem to charge you.
  16. i had this same one for a couple years before i sold it and purchased a longer sit on top. to get off the bank and start catching some fish, it's a great option. actually has a pretty decent seat on it too. that's not a bad price either and you can sell it for about that much down the road if you choose to do so. looks like it comes with the paddle, but get yourself a quality life jacket/PFD and WEAR IT!
  17. i believe that on the average depth, no doubt. i've been doing well on a senko around here too, i'll have that rigged up ready to roll! Thanks man, hopefully i can fool a few in to biting!
  18. Nice fish! Cover up that street sign before all your neighbors are at your honey hole!
  19. where's this 14lber pond in Middle GA? i'll help you slay that beast!
  20. that's insane!
  21. thank you sir! i'll be on the cedar bluff side, not too far from the big furnace thing on the lake. i know deep is a relative term, especially there because i've never found much deeper than 15-20 feet around this guy's house. i had the topwater in mind too, either a buzzbait, popper or walker whichever one gets it done i suppose! a buddy sent me 2 pics this morning of a 3# spot and a 4# largemouth both in his first 10 minutes on the water, both on the whopper plopper.... may have to invest in one of those units!
  22. don't know about the line, but i have seen the 4orce and domin8 lines in the local dick's sporting goods lately
