  1. is that some sort of sly play on words??
  2. should be in the Rod Building and Custom Rods section... but that's fairly new to BR so Glenn may not have known about it....
  3. you might (or might not) look into that a bit further. the cannabis oils that are extracted from the marijuana can be vaped along with the flower as well, very much the same process as far as "heating" the liquids to a certain temp to extract the chemicals. i'll admit i'm no engineer nor scientist though, just a dude that's seen them both in action. but in both processes, there is no combustion for sure. i just thought it a little funny, but not funny that the catalyst for the e cig business was the vaporizing of marijuana. Now if someone could find some unbiased science to prove that the e cigs were in fact less harmful...... man that would be great and frankly i would be an advocate for using the e cigs vs smoking.
  4. will likely help you if you narrow down the "tampa area". that would cast a wide net i imagine. i used to hog hunt a lot just north in land o lakes, but never once fished around there. man do i regret that now!!!!
  5. killer fish there Jeff!
  6. truth right here... and i couldn't imagine paying the NY prices!! i was smoking in NC where they were around $3 pack so not nearly as costly as up north! you could nearly finance a boat up there with the money you'd saved!
  7. #1 thank you for your service, sir! #2 my wife is there all the time at the hospital or whatever it is there, she's in medical device sales #3 my colleague spoke of some BIG fish and BIG crappie mainly #4 let's go fishing on ft benning!!
  8. hoping for a speedy recovery Dwight!
  9. pretty sure they call it "selling out" basically the demise of so many good things.... music, movies, magazines, etc.
  10. i would add the clouds in with a number of other factors and then start there (water temp, depth, season, etc.). simply having cloud cover doesn't take away from needing to find the fish.
  11. those look great, a lot like the stand up fish heads!
  12. pretty sure they call those lion's collar jigs and yours looks great!
  13. you don't have access to the base by chance do you? a former colleague of mine was retired air force and talked about some amazing fishing on fort benning.
  14. if it were a hog or boar, whatever you want to call them, you'd know they were there. you'd have acres upon acres rooted up from the hogs. and from what i can make out from that picture, the legs are far too long and skinny all the way up the leg to be a hog. i've wrestled, killed and hobbled enough wild hogs to know one when i see one.
  15. i too quit smoking a while back, cold turkey as well. However, the smell from these things is nothing, i mean nothing like a cigarette to me. the musty smell of a cigarette is 10,000,000 times worse than the non-existent smell of the vapor. now is it harmless, i doubt it as well, but the smell isn't even on the same planet. funny how the engineering from vaporizing marijuana lead to an industry of vaporizing nicotine. not funny though how they market the e cigs to kids to appeal to them as though they are both smoking cigarettes and vaporizing weed...
  16. so what's odd is they say this guy may have only been dead for a few days!!!! the heat, humidity and salty air evidently mummified him pretty quick!
  17. i kayak fish myself, but at that i can't take Chad Hoover's videos. So full of himself, just puts out videos just to do so. Makes no sense a lot of times, just nearly un-viewable. a while back, I saw a clip of a video of 3-5 "professional youtubers" that kinda turned me off of fluke. it was him and like 3 or 4 "kids" all talking about how much work a youtube channel is and blah blah blah..... wait til they get a real job.... not for me. i haven't seen a lot of these guys that are mentioned here, but will have to check them out.
  18. i know there is no standard and that it seems to vary, but SK does not advertise weight like that on their other products from what i've noted. granted, i'm weighing them on a kitchen digital scale, but the variance on this one was wide. if the head were 14G that would make the blade and hook roughly 6, which may be, i don't know. either way, i likely wouldn't buy them again!
  19. NOT, i repeat, NOT the strike king version that i just bought a few weeks ago!! first off, the head is an odd shape, which is fine, but it's odd for sure. secondly, it said 1/2 oz all over the package, but on my scales it was nearly 20G so more like 3/4 which is a bit of a big deal to me because the rod i was using was rated to 5/8 so there's that..... thought they'd be a cheaper alternative.... they're cheaper alright, but not for me. i like the fish head brand the best, but they are a little pricey. i want to try one of the newer stand up versions they put out as well.
  20. hopefully they move this to the electronics where you'll likely get a better response. if not, message @Wayne P. and ask him, that dude knows everything there is to know about electronics!
  21. i like videos with fishing..... once they look or sounds anything like an infomercial, i'm done. i don't subscribe to a lot though, just sit down and start randomly watching...
  22. i oddly agree with you!
  23. bending branches angler paddle i found on a crazy sale a long time ago. my wife has a cheapo aluminum and it's quite a bit heavier. my buddy has a super fancy carbon fiber one that's crazy light, but cost a small fortune!
  24. i'm assuming the bass aren't studying it long enough to know, and once again, we only see these baits how our eyes interpret them, not the bass. since crawfish "walk" the opposite direction of how they "swim" i wonder if the bass is really capable of processing the fact that the pattern is reversed for the direction the crawfish is moving?
