Daiwa Lexa
I posted asking about this reel once before. After a lot of replies I basically had equal positive and negative posts from users. I've read a good bit of negative stuff online so I wanted to ask about it first. I really wanted first hand experience with people who owned this and Lews reels but only one user owns both. It was basically a draw at that point. So I decided not to but one yet. Today I actually bought one since my local shop had it in the case and sold it to me for $100. I spooled it with the Tuff-line #20 sample I got a few weeks ago. I fished with it for 2hrs using a 1/4oz jig and a 1/2oz jika rig. It's surprisingly smaller in profile then I had imagined. It balanced great on my Falcon Bucoo micro 6'10. It's also easy to dial in and cast fairly well. I had a cross wind so I wasn't bombing anything but for the little time I fished with it I did like it. I can't speak on longevity obviously but for $100 it wasn't a bad buy so far. Time will tell.

First Jika Rig Fish
From all the info I've read on it. You just use it like a Tx rig but it presents the bait a little off the bottom. Kinda like a very very short C rig. Drag it across the bottom, pop it,lift and fall. I was just pitching it into the laydown and bringing it up over the limbs letting it drop on the other side.

First Jika Rig Fish
I've heard about the jika 'z-ka' rig but never tried it. So last night I went and bought some bell sinkers and made a few up. I was using a 4/0 gamakatsu superline ewg with 1/2oz bell sinker and a number 2 split ring. I fished for about 2hrs and only managed 1 fish but she was a decent one. Pitching a brush laydown with craw and it was perfect. Drug it up over a big limb and she nailed it on the fall down. Weighed 2.5lbs and was 17" long. Nice fat female ready for spawning.

Maryland's Who's who!
I live about 45 minutes from Deep Creek and fish there pretty often. It's a whole different world in Garrett County.

Any Songs About Bass Fishing??
I think the OP is referring to songs about fishing not songs that reference fishing. Just about every country song you will here mention of... fishing, beer, trucks, tractors, women, dogs, whiskey, skoal, hunting, family, farming. Yeah that about covers it haha. I've listened to country for years.

Opinionwise What's A Better Brand Frog?
I use the Ish Monroe frogs from Snag Proof. A bit pricey but I like that it's got 2 chambers and won't take on any water.

Help Me Pack My Bag.
I'm leaving here in just under a month for a week long trip to fish Sam Rayburn in Tx. Me being me I'd like to take everything I own but I know that's not possible. The boat bag I'm taking can hold 7 3700 boxes plus lots of room for soft baits. Help me fill my boxes with a good assortment. Also same with rods. How many should I take. I think I've decided on 6. That should cover the basics. spinning, crankbait, flipping, then 3 MH in different lengths for everything else. Thanks BR.

Battery Size Questions
Thanks Jim. I just bought another group 29 battery. Amp hours @1amp are a tad different but not by much. 114/125 The ages are a 10 month difference. 6/12 - 4/13 Both are Everstart marine deep cycle batteries but one is the regular and the other is a maxx. Not sure what that means exactly.

Okuma Reels
I can't speak on their casting reels but I have 2 Okuma trio 30 spinning reels and have had them for a few years. I used them everytime I went fishing which was 4-5 days a week until I got into casting reels a year ago and they are still in the lineup. Never had a single issue and still smooth.

Fishing Season
As far as my state MD goes. You can fish year round but there are times when types of fish are out of season. All it means is you can't keep them but you can catch them all you want.

Maryland's Who's who!
Yeah savage river d**n here in my area it can't be on the boat. Also koon d**n has the same rule but it's technically Pa. Both are water sources for local towns so that's probably why.

Battery Size Questions
Yeah I thought about buying a smaller battery and just swapping them out when the larger one dies but that'd defeat the purpose of wanting to wire 2 in parallel for the extra life I'd get. At least that's what I've read. 2 in parallel will last longer then 2 by themselves. I'll just stick with the same size. The difference in price is like $15. No big deal.

Left Handed Baitcasting
That would be a RH reel. When looking down from the top at the spool the handle is on he right.
-
Left Handed Baitcasting
I prefer left handed and I'm right handed. I think it's due to using spinning rods with the handle on the left so it feels more natural to me. Secondly I like having my dominant hand control the rod/bait/fish ect. That just makes sense to me. Like taking a leak with your left hand. Just doesn't feel right haha.

Maryland's Who's who!
Alright thanks. There's a place here I want to fish but it can't even be mounted on the boat. So looks like I won't be going there anytime soon.

Battery Size Questions
That's what I figured but wanted to ask. Well I guess the good thing is I'll always have plenty of power.

Battery Size Questions
I have a group 29 for my 12v trolling motor and I'm wanting to add a second battery wired in parellel so I have more run time on the water. Is it okay to use a smaller battery such a a group 24 or do I need to match the sizes?

Major League Fishing Istokpoga
Ish is my favorite. He's seems super down to earth. I'd love just to hang out with him for a few hours. Not even talk about fishing.

Maryland's Who's who!
Anyone got any info on big pool as far as how's the fishing? I was planning on trying it out for the first time on Monday around 3:30. Be my first outing on the boat this year. Trolling motor only but you can have your outboard attached correct? Thanks in advance.
