Fluorocarbon what do you use?
Hi all ? Wondering what fluorocarbon you use for Spinning reel and baitcasters. I tried out several few years back for spinning and baitcasters. I liked Sunline Super FC Sniper Flourocarbon for my baitcasters. Really like how it performs! I’ve used Suffix fluorocarbon but it would tangle as season gone on. Not a big fan it’s just “decent.” whats your fluorocarbon for spinning and baitcasters!? How is the Suffix Flourocarbon Advance? Seen it was new. Thanks!

Powerton Lake IL
I go to LaSalle a lot live near there. I don’t know if they close Powerton at certain winds but I’m sure anything over 15 is very difficult to take a boat on. I agree they close boat launches at LaSalle for anything over 15. Yeah hopefully the winds go down a bit

Powerton Lake IL
Looking to go to Powerton this Sunday. Temp is supposed to be 65 degrees with 15 to 25 mph winds SSW. I know lake faces north/south. I’ve had good luck on east end of lake. Is 15 to 25 mph winds too much on boat? i also heard the dam Broke a couple years back. Went three years ago in April and caught only catfish. Went 6 years ago and caught tons of Smallmouth in February. Wondering if it’s worth going Sunday!? Thanks ?

Shimano Expride or Megabass Orochi XX
I own a legend xtreme casting rod fast 7 ft. It’s the best rod I’ve own/owned. You get a limited lifetime warranty. I got mine on clearance several years ago when they were coming out with a new model. I feel every nook and cranny on the bottom. If your up to buying a legend xtreme it’s worth it. I got mine on clearance and love it.

Medium light rod/Reel size?
Should work perfectly. The best ML I found is the Bass Pro Micro Lite Graphite Spinning rod. This is an all around rod. I’ve used it from trout to panfish to crappie to large & smallmouth bass. This rod should be way more money. It’s an amazing rod. You won’t be disappointed! https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-micro-lite-graphite-spinning-rod

Bass Pro Johnny Morris Carbon lite 2.0 Spinning Reel
Hello ? Was looking over the Bass Pro Spring Classic Sale in March and happen to stumble upon the New Bass Pro Johnny Morris Carbon lite 2.0 Spinning Reel. I recently just gotten a St Croix Mojo Bass Yak Spinning rod 7 ft medium-light. Was wondering if anyone had tried out the carbon lite 2.0 spinning Reel. Is it good or am I better off with a different reel? Trying to make a light setup. The rod weight is 4 ounces and reel is anywhere from 6.7 to 7.8 ounces. If y’all think it’s not a “great” reel, then give me your suggestions. I want to stay around $50 preferably. I think with carbon lite on sale for the price is a good deal + plus don’t need a reel trade in.

Getting a Kayak Trailer
Don’t get me wrong the Ironton trailers look well built but to me I need a longer length and the tire speed is a big factor. I drive a lot of interstate here in Illinois. I think the Right on Ruff Sport trailer is perfect. It can go 70 mph, it’s 11 ft in length, and I can hold 2 kayaks or more. I need to get a pickup truck lol. I have a Honda CRV. It’s nice it will be able to pull the kayaks with no problem. I did look at that bar and looked at putting foam pads on roof of car. Anyone notice the trailer license go up? Here in Illinois it went from $30 to $115 . Just crazy!

Getting a Kayak Trailer
That is nice. Like I said if there was more jet ski trailers in area that would be a go-to. I'll keep my eye out never know. Yeah I definitely don't want to go even near a grand. BTW thats a nice mod you did. Like I said.. If I can find a jet ski trailer that would be the best route just haven't been seeing them. Most I seen were too far to travel.

Getting a Kayak Trailer
I recently purchased a Kayak over winter. It's a sit-on-top Kayak 11.6 ft. Over the winter I've done some research. Wanted to wait till I gotten my tax return. Now that I finally got my tax return I'm ready to buy a Trailer. The trailer will also have my Dad's kayak which is same length of 11.6 ft. I was told to find used trailers. In Illinois those are a scarcity. They go so fast its hard to find any. Anyhow, after researching I found I like the Right on Ruff-Sport Trailer. The right on Ruff sport trailer is designed for multiple kayaks and I can use it for other things. https://rightontrailer.com/product/ruff-sport-trailer/ Specs Width: 64" (with crossbars) Length: 11' Weight: 200 pounds Capacity: 400 pounds Tire size: 12 - 4.80 Length from tongue to 1st crossbar: 6.5' I like how the length is 11 ft which will not overhang off trailer as much. I like the length from the tongue to 1st crossbar of 6.5 ft. I did look at Utility trailers from northern tools. The 5 ft x 8 ft is the biggest I could find. I wouldn't mind an utility trailer as I see they are way cheaper but to me 8 ft isn't going to cut it. I was wondering if they make utility trailers 10 or 11 ft in length? I also looked videos on custom Kayak trailers. Many I've seen have put in $200. Yes they look nice but you also need time to able to design it. I have a 2 month old baby girl so my time is limited. Also if you got a right on trailer, how is it? Thanks for your help appreciated.

Bass Pro Spring Classic Sale
I read the messages here and see it starts March 13th 2020. My initial thought is last years sale wasn’t “great” and BPS is trying to enhance people to buy more by having it into spring instead of winter like always. Hopefully sale is better! Anyone have a leak of flyer or know what’s on sale besides reel and rod trade-in? Thanks.

Still going to look around for cheaper but so far the cheapest I seen. Run2Jeepn, I havent seen any Jet Ski Trailers under $300. Can you tell me where you went? I'm seeing them over $1,000.

Kayak help
Hello all, After reviewing and researching I like 3 Waters Kayak a lot. I found Brooklyn Kayak Company and right now have a super sweet deal going on. BKC RA220 11.6" is On sale from $1,497.00 to $787.00. Plus it has for 8 days 25% off with Code BKC which would bring price to $590.20. Thats a steal for a fishing Kayak. The colors and design is pretty well made as well. Just wanted your opinion on Brooklyn Kayaks Especially the 11.6". Is this a good kayak? It has excellent reviews.

Kayak help
LadiMopar, Watched the video and found it to be amazing. I found out about way more kayak companies than I knew and styles. This video has helped me a lot. The Big Fish I really liked the design. It looks well designed. Have to research more because he had two different models of Big Fish which one was $200 more than other. MN Fisher, Thats a great job done on that trailer. I like how you designed it. I agree spending $500 instead of $1000 is much cheaper. I will def custom make my trailer to fit my Yak. Thanks for showing me a picture and helping me out on the trailer.

Kayak help
Smalls, Will do that. I did think it was perfect time of year. Only deals I seen were on Dicks Sporting Goods. They weren't on 12 feet Kayaks. I won't spend 1,000 on a trailer. No way. I think thats outrageous. I'll be def looking for a jet ski trailer. Thank you for your input really opened my mind. Run2jeepn, Ya I love Facebook Market place I've used it before. I know BassPro has a Kayak sale but its in March. Utility trailer for $350 isn't bad will have to take a look at that. I sat in the Ascend as BassPro and It was comfy but like I said I'm open to any yak. I want whats best for me. Thanks for your advice. Harold, It goes the same way for hunting, wear your orange. Yes totally agree safety first. Hook2Jaw, Just watched a video on YouTube about the Moken. Said the 2020 Model was substantially upgraded. The guy says its one of the best under $1000. I liked the features on it. Ive seen them around $7-800 as you said. Def will keep them in mind. I did like how the boat was built. Thanks for your help.

Kayak help
Hello, Thank you for taking time to read my post. I'm in line to buy a kayak for fishing. I live in Illinois and as winter is approaching this investment will be for next spring. I've been doing some research and looking at websites. What I want: Sit-On-Top fishing Kayak 12 Feet. My money range is 0-$700. I'd like to be able to stand on it eventually when I get comfortable. In august visited Bass Pro and really Ascend Sit on top kayak 12 feet. Also looked ay Brooklyn and Sun Dolphin Kayaks online. I haven't seen any really eye popping deals. Can you help: With information given I need a Kayak for under $700 preferably. Whats the "best" brand, whats a good brand too look at? Where are the deals at? I don't want to pay full price if I don't have to. Trailer: I have a 2018 Honda CRV to lug it around but I feel it won't fit inside if its 12 feet. How do you transport your kayak? I've seen kayak trailers going for $1,000. That to me is way to pricey. If you could help with trailer as well that would be great. Thank you for taking time to read and helping me.

St Croix ScII rods vs SCIII rods
^^This says it all. You can't go wrong with St. Croix. I also have the panfish rod, mojo bass, avid, and Legend Xtreme. I know the new Mojo Bass are designed with avid components. The rod is definitely upgraded from older model. Though, both the older model and newer model are still great rods to own. If you feel you weren't "satisfied" any Mojo Bass, which I don't know how you couldn't be satisfied... You could upgrade to a higher end St. Croix rod. This wouldn't allow you to be unsatisfied (amazing rods). St. Croix has fixed my rods. My Legend Xtreme has a "limited lifetime warranty." Meaning if I give the rod to someone else my warranty ends, otherwise my warranty is as good as I live. That's the benefit of owning a St. Croix rod. The warranty pays for itself.

Rod Comparison
Well, I didn't want to just spend all my money on fishing rods and reels. I needed more things than a high end rod and reel. I have a high end reel and rod that values over $700 as a combo. I just wanted some medium end rods and reels. I feel with what I chose fits my situation. Thanks I love the rods and reels.

Rod Comparison
Totally Agree, but money becomes an issue *sometimes* I bought this rod because it was $30 off of $89 bucks. It felt good in hand for the price. I agree with Tom. Not saying he's wrong. I'm just saying I love having sensitivity. I used Tom's knowledge when I choosing rods on Thursday. I went to BPS on Thursday. I got BPS Crankin Rod for $49.99 and St. Croix Mojo Bass rod for $104.96. I Paired them with two BPS Pro Qualifiers for $49 each. Not a bad day

Reshuffling the rod lineup
I know there's a slight difference between the Avid to the Legend Tournament. If your sold on a St. Croix, you can't go wrong with how strong of a pole they design and the sensitivity. I own a Legend Xtreme casting rod. Its so sensitive and light, I can cast it all day. I would spend the extra $40 bucks and get the Legend Tournament. You'll be thanking me later. Another option: I had an old mojo break at a guide. One of the respresentives called me asking if I wanted to upgrade to a higher end rod (which I bought) the Avid series. Long story short, it was a nice gesture by St. Croix, and the upgrade from Mojo to Avid back then was huge. It's what made me go out and buy a Legend Extreme on clearance for $200 back three years ago. Whatever St. Croix model you chose though, will be great for what your trying to do. Both rods are built well and should give you what your looking for in a rod. The option is you can buy a rod and if down the road you want to upgrade, you can do just that.

Rod Comparison
I as well have an St. Croix Avid spinning rod. I've had this rod for 4 years now and I love how sensitive it is. If the Mojo Bass are close enough to the Avid Series rods, then this would be a great addition. I know there going for $130 and with rod trade-in I could get it at $104.99 -- Can't beat that. I understand this Tom. I've used crankbaits before. I'm just trying to get more specific on having rods for certain techniques and lures. Most of the time I used squarebills on my legend Xtreme Rod (which is amazing). I just want to use my legend xtreme rod for an all around rod. I want to have rod(s) for a few lures I use alot. I'm just trying to figure if I should go for the Crankin Stick which is much cheaper or go for the Mojo Bass.
