Veritas And Mgx For Cranking - What Line Should I Use?
St Croixs have a markup of over 60% on their legends.. Just for comparisons sake. Doesnt make it a cheap rod if it only costs 100 to make, because they spend a lot more than that developing it. Not to derail the thread. To answer the OP, if yor going with shallow to medium divers I would start with either 12-15 lb mono or fluoro. Mono brand doesnt really matter, fluoro stick with Seaguar or Berkley 100%

Throw it around any lillies/reeds or grass. Sometimes around heavily wooded areas. If its very highly pressured your best shot will be at dusk and dawn and then after dark as well

Veritas And Mgx For Cranking - What Line Should I Use?
Not that I have seen. They are all 99 unless you find them on sale somewhere but never down to 45 dollars...

Rick Clunn Signature Series S-Glass Crankin Rods
Does anyone have info on where they found out these were going on sale? I work there and saw nothing on those rods. Yes deals are starting this weekend but nothing on those rods

Furnace Bay right now does not have weeds in it, they are all out in front of it on the actual flats. From the end of the no wake its exactly 4.14 miles which is about 8-9 minutes at 40mph. BTW, the best fishing is NOT out in that grass. So much pressure the past week that its pushed a lot of the nicer fish out of there and onto hard cover. Im not going to say where exactly but Ive been down there 4 days this past week and Im about the only guy not out there and it seems to be staying consistent where the grass isnt

Susky is really close to you. Very tricky from a boat and a lot of guys do well from the shore. Blue marsh.. Well Ive fished a ton of tournaments and one day everyone can have a limit the next day your lucky if 20% of the boats even get a bite. Ive had a bunch of smallies out of there over 4 lbs but its extremely tricky with no structure. Not a stitch of weeds. The flats are great. I spend 3-4 days a week down there. Today the tides played with me. Went 3 hours with no fish then in an hour had 5, each pushing 4 lbs. My best 5 bass limit down there was 23.1 lbs, with lots of tournaments being won with 25-26 lbs for 5. So yes, It's awesome down there, but you NEED a boat. Physically impossible to fish without one. But there is also a lot of pressure. Today I counted over 60 boats on one weed stretch on the flats. Saw one fish caught in an hour, left to go to another spot and caught all mine. My avatar is actually from the flats actually

Shipping Rods Vs. Checking On Airplane
25 or 35 per bag is only if they are under the size limits. Rod tubes almost always qualify as oversized which usually tacks on another 50 or so. Depends which airline

Lowarance/aluminum Help
Currently I run two FF's, LED internal lights, aerator, bilge, running/navigation lights and the big motor off of a 24 series optima. Never had it fall below 12.5 volts. There is no issue running everything off of the cranking battery since every accessory pulls so little. Ive gone all day running everything besides the big motor and never had an issue. I would never wire anything besides the trolling motor onto those two other batteries. Im hard enough on them already

Quantum Energy Used?
Uhhh guys, its a lefty. Notice how Quantum is spelled backwards on it Personally, I do not like quantum reels. That said, its an older energy so my guess is that it could go for 70-80 bucks. Take that with a grain of salt though as I do not like them. Just my personal preference.

Bad Shimano Experience
Ive had it happen on a few of my Saharas. No clue what it is. Its like the handle hits a bump and you have to push it over to get it to reel again. Once its going its fine but getting the handle around is a chore when it happens

Minn Kota Maxxum
Ok I just pulled off my top cover and snapped a pic for you. Here it is. The light is held underneath that whitish clear clip.

Minn Kota Maxxum
Not to sound like an idiot here, but mine is very dull at best and even at night I go off of feel, not the light. If I were you I wouldnt even put it in. I know if mine broke or burned out I would not replace it. That being said, I am not sure where it goes. Never took my head unit apart

do you mean the light that lights up the directional indicator?

Picked Up The New Sustain Fg
That bail closing issue is common on any of the surf reels with the bigger ball power handle. Two easy remedies. 1.) When you open the bail spin the handle till it hits the trip and leave it there. The handle spinning on the cast from the weight of the ball causes it to trip, this solves it. And B.) Take out the auto trip. Very simple, all it does is cause you to have to manually close the bail which is better anyway since closing it with the handle can cause wind knots. I had the same issue with my Battle 5k and I took out the auto trip after whipping a 3 oz T-Hex into a headwind and snapping it off and have had no issues since then at all.

Rod Wraps
I did it for functionality not looks. A few tournaments a year have blast off temps hovering around 15-20 degrees, so needless to say my hands are cold and so is my cork making both dry and slick. I got wraps on all my cork gripped casting rods and the problems all went away. Plus adds some cushion for flipping jigs or continuously casting all day

What Do I Need To Do Different?
Go down there with a pair of polarized sunglasses when its sunny out. Just walk around the edges. Look for the beds which will generally be next to some sort of cover, and round in shape. If you see bass swimming around they are spawning. Thats exactly what they are doing here now and they are a pain to catch

05 Nitro 640Lx 60Hp Tracker Worth It
Check all the decks and reach back up into the transom for any rot. Youll be able to tell right away if there is. On the deck just walk around on every square inch of it to feel for soft spots. If you could take it to a mechanic and get them to look it over thats even better. Check when the water pump was last changed, because if it hasnt been changed in a while you could be looking at an initial expense (even though they arent that much). Pull the trolling motor and outboard props and check for fishing line. Also the condition of the props can tell a story in themselves. The more worn they are, the bigger beating the boat took. Also get on your back, crawl under the hull and look with a flashlight for any major scratches

Batteries And Chargers
Must be I guess. Im running all 29 series batteries and after a full day on an electric only lake my batteries are basically as low as they can go. After they recharge they are each back up to 12.6v each. Longest Ive ever seen it run was 7-8 hrs and that was after they would barely turn my prop. And yes I know thats horrible for the batteries
