  1. I would look at the lews tourny pro and the curado I. Or even a Gen 2 revo STX With the possibility of the chronarch es getting cheapnsoob i would look there as well
  2. Mirrorlure makes multiple saltwater suspending lipless twitchbaits.nthe mirrodine being my favorite I wish they would make fresh water versions. Im gonna have to try them out in feesh water this year since i have several from when i lived in tampa
  3. I replaced my spheros 8000 with a saragosa. The rod was taken care of by croix I tried ti replace the bail but she was an old spheros and i couldnt find a bail. Shimano actually hooked me up good the sent me a bai for the newer model overnight for free. It fit but didnt work quite right.
  4. Atleast you broke it fishing with it! I fell in my face in my buddys boat in Tampa bay on a tarpon trip and crushed the bail on my old Spheros...and to add insult to injury i broke my 7'6 H st croix tidemaster....i was not a happy camper That combo did battle with many tarpon and some big sharks, deep grouper, occasional cobia and more...she was a good one. May she RIP lol
  5. Yes and yes Iirc the 2 *** 7'3 Mh that i own are rght around 5oz. The 7'1 Mh *** is closer to 4.3oz. I know .7oz isnt much but the *** truly feels lighter in my hand. I noticed that before i looked up the specs.
  6. I have a berkley lighting rod UL 5'6 with a shimano sedona 750 Its my brook trout rod
  7. The *** is lighter and balances better. The foregrip is also more comfy. I have yet to fish with it since i live in the great white north and al gore lied to me
  8. I have a lews tourny pro on the croix legend tournament bass i got last year....love that combo
  9. Another vote for the tried and true Lightning rod! Great rods for under 50bucks....man i remember when they were 19.99 lol As a matter of fact i still have a few. One from 1996 and anoher from 2004. I still use em! One is a 5'5 ultra lite for trout fishing and the other is a 7 H that i use for big froggin in heavy slop of pads
  10. I noticed an increase in getting fish to eat in the saltwater world by dowsizing the leader many times with snook, reds, trout and tarpon. Now i was in the gulf and the water was very clear. However, was it that my lure had a slightly different action with the smaller line? Or was it the fish could see the leader? I dunno. But even with live bait i noticed a difference with lighter line and smaller hooks (especially with live bait) Have i noticed this with bass? No i havent. I have found that downsizing baits can and does have an impact in various water and pressure conditions
  11. The rod fairy brought me an *** 7'3 MH and an *** 7'1 Woot cmon spring Gonna put a chronarch CI4+ on the *** and hopfully i can score a chronarch e cheap for the ***!
  12. I thought yall would like that sign...i have permission to fish there. The owner is a family friend thankfully lol
  13. Ill add my 6.2 into the thread lol
  14. Bearing quality can and does make up for quantity
  15. Nice!...was hoping it would stay green though lol did you see it at the show yesterday?
  16. Seneca is tricky sometimes. I like jerkbaits and beavers year round When the lilly pads come up the frog bite is usually good. With the water being gin clear stealth is key, down size everything. i like small single colorado blade spinner baits and small swimbaits in the weeds during the summer as well as the previouslt mentioned jerkbaits and beavers I usually have a smallie beaver, pointer 78, 1/4oz single colorado spinner bait and a RI skinny dipper tied on in seneca. A small hard swimbait works well too
  17. No! And im running out of things to read on the throne!
  18. I have an actual charge account at my local tackle store...its bad lol
  19. I have a curado E and a lews TP...both rock! However the TP at 150 cannot be beat imo. Do like my curado e better? Yes i do but only by the slimmest of margins...if were in the market for a sub $200 reel it would come down to the lews TP or BB1 pro hands down
  20. The time my buddy andu dropped two cylinders 14miles offshore near tampa not 3 hours after the boat had. Its first 100hr service comes ti mind Then there was the time i hit a deer with the truck and the boat at the same time My personal favorite however was fishing a tourny in the pouring rain wihout my raingear...it was terrible. I some how left it home and man it poured. I finished 9th lol
  21. I did the same thing lol
  22. Jackall is good stuff for sure! I especially **** the flick shake and TN lipless crank. The TN70 stands on its nose on the bottom...its dirty!
  23. I have most of em lol I used the different colors in different test. yellow was 20, green was 30 white was 35, and red was 65 lol
  24. Stealth is key! I like to downsize and use natural colors in clear water
  25. Thanks and good luck to you too!
