They are acrually great rods...just not great in thier pricepoint...no reason for a gl2 to be north of 150. I got my old blue gl2s over ten years ago and they are excellent and were under 150 retail (barely) at the time When they shot up over 200 and turned maroon i never got another...i figured for the money the st croix ltb was the way to go...and that ltb is worth the price!

Braid in the heavy cover and flouro around docks, light cover and in and around rocks for me No complaints about either line. I like em both as they both have thier repective places on my deck

Was in my buddy's pathfinder near tampa and had 20+ ft whaleshark along side. The pathy was 24ft...and that whale shark was real close to the same...really cool fish

I like a little chop anytime i throw topwater Ive had good success with both in many conditions. I do like the gunfish better in a moderate or heavier chop though

I do really well with the 6xd my 10xd has no produced yet...i havnt givin it a fair shake yet. I also got some duo g87s this year and they are about the size of an 8xd Ive caught everything from 5#s down to a 12 inch perch on the 6xd lol

Oh and the wind wont blow at all until my boat touches the water

I just add 10-15kts onto what ever they call for So if the weather guy says 5-10mph that means 13-22kts ie 5 to10 + 10 to 15 = 15 to 25 x .87 lol That way i wont be mad all the time
