  5. I asked the fishing manager at my local Academy about the internet thing and he didn't know anything about it. Maybe they are keeping him in the dark or it's a rumor ?? And I agree the H2O line is a good value ,everything I have used has been as good or better than some of the top brands. T

There are better ones, but I have a Rapala 50# digital scale...I checked it with a postal scale and it was 1 oz light. Not too shabby considering what they cost. T
  7. This is the one I would go with , perfect match with the CI4. T
  8. Yeah, they teach that technique in the Navy Seals ...stealth fishing 101 T
  9. It should fit your needs perfectly,I had a 7'MHF but I sold it and replaced it with the Fenwick Techna..I sure like my Techna. T
  10. I own all of those rods.. I love the Avid 7'MHXF I use it for CR, TR and Senko's. It was suprising to me as to how much the rods weigh VS how well balanced the rod was. Some of the heavier weighted rods actually felt lighter because of the way they balance. T
  11. Call Smooth Drag and ask your question http://www.smoothdrag.com/ T
  12. Here are some rod weights as measured by a postal scale , I thought maybe some of you guys could gain some insight . 13. For open water fishing I'll go with a 7 footer, if I'm working in close to cover I'll go with the 6'6". T
  14. Zell Pop pearl melon T
  15. These pics were posted by another member sometime back, a pretty slick way to rig the crawbug http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c30/illini_71/cr1.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c30/illini_71/cr3.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c30/illini_71/cr2.jpg T
  16. I too have eyed the Tackle Warehouse sale on Platinums for a while ,heck I almost bought one at retail of $159 a year ago. This thread got me fired up enough to go ahead and get me one and if you want one use this code for 10% off http://www.***.com/2010wrap/ With the free shipping and 10% off I paid $61.99
  17. I bought 10 spools of 10# & 12# Rapala crankbait line when it was on sale for $1.99 for 250 yds. This is the stuff that David Fritts endorses if that means anything..but I still use what I have left and can say that it will cast a country mile, is managable & I have never broken off . Good stuff IMO..haven't used the finesse line. Hope this helps. T
  18. Good photography tips , Thanks T
  19. While I have a few All Stars I don't have a Platinum but have handled one a few times at my local tackle store. IMO it was light, crisp and sensitive and appears to be well made. This was All Star's top end rod and is now discontinued. You got a good deal and should be happy with it especially for the price you paid. T
  20. Mostly round rubber for me as mentioned earlier it flairs quite a bit more than silicone ...I like these skirts on Football and Arkie jig heads. T
  21. Lake of the Pines is one of those lakes that reek of big bass, definatly underrated. T
  22. It depends on the size of the crank not the diving depth but I change my medium size cranks to a #6 on the rear and a #4 on the front. T
