The Mud Hole video's helped me greatly in replacing a broken guide on my rod. I would recommend them. T
  2. Unless you plan on throwing your baits a long distance such as crankbaits IMO you would best suited to stick with the stock bearings and drags as mentioned above, the newer reels have adequate bearings and drags already in place .Regular reel maintenance will do wonders for your reel. I did upgrade my 4 Curados with these and would recommend them. http://hpreelbearings.com/default.aspx T
  3. Get her one of those new side imaging Lowrance units and install the antennae under the front axle with a clamp so you can take it off quickly when you go fishing

HMMM...I guess I'm an old fart

How old do you have to be to be an old fart ? T
  6. I was going to suggest the Citica with the BuCoo rod also,For a new setup I don't think you will find a better bargain at this price. I would suggest looking on the flea market, there are good deals to be had there.. T
  7. I usually use 3 or 4 myself ...I don't care much for the magnetic controls. I can't cast effeciently with the brakes off. Some folks say they can ...good for them , just ask how many backlashes they pick out each trip. T
  8. I would go with the medium action, you will have a lot more options with it than a ML T
  9. It is mono and for the price I say go for it , the worst you could do is have a whole lot of line backing for your reels. BTW I used to use the Rapala crankbait line before it was discontinued and I was very pleased with it. T
  10. The 6'-9" model is the Reaction series. T
  11. Yeah boy I'm in hog heaven, Tuesday it was 107 degrees .Wednesday after the front it was a cool 95 degrees. Whoo boy what a relief T
  12. I have had better success using a bright color like white that I can see ,I usually don't let it sink deeper than I can see. Also I have found that heavier lines and MH rods seem to work best. The posts from above are the correct way to work this bait. T
  13. Glenn, I don't know about their coach Pete Carroll .He seems to have bailed out of a heap of trouble at USC that he created in the nick of time. Not a sign of integrity. GO HORNS ! T
  14. Fishing for bass in a pond and fishing on a sizeable lake is 2 different animals. When pond fishing the fish are concentrated in a smaller area and when fishing a lake they could be on any weedline. Cover a lot of water on a lake and you will have better success. T
  15. Or even 2 or 3 trailer hooks T
  16. I say "Got you you ba****d
  17. Get the rope !
  18. The Arkie head is a good compromise when fishing different cover. The only jigs I carry with me are football jigs for rocky lakes and Arkie style for everything else. T
  19. You do want the smallest diameter line you can get away with. With regular mono or fluoro the lowest I would go is 10#. The 10# being the same as 6# dosent give you much leeway for abrasion resistance. They used to have a chart showing what diameter each Magnathin line was equal to. T
  20. Yeah that 10# Magnathin is the diameter of 6# or so ,for throwing a deep crank I would go with a minimum of 12# and probably 14# would be the best choice. T
  21. I used to throw the 20# quite a bit with a Rtltrap, the 20# is the same diameter as 14# I think.I never had any problems with it .
  22. I'll take a box of duds and large popcorn and have em throw some extra butter on there. T
