Need help picking a new gun...
Yeah, since you threw that in there it is definatly a Weatherby. Just sold an Accumark I've had for a while and really hated to see it go , but Weatherby would be my choice of the mentioned rifles. T

Is Anyone Fishing Mexico?
Some local guys around here fish Falcon often ,last few weeks they have really been tearing them up .Last report was from this past weekend ...3 guys... 50+ fish ...big fish was over 9 and had one over 8.Also no pirate sitings, I believe the US Border Patrol has beefed up the area in response to pirate encounters T

Shimano Bantam Chronarch 100
I can only compare to the Chronarch BPV which is the version that preceded the 100A.Since the BPV has super free gearing it will cast more effortlessly ,however the reel did not fit my hand right and feels bulky and heavy. As far as I know the new Chronarch 100D does not have the line capacity that the 100A has. In a nutshell, the Chronarch 100A casts as far as you need to throw and then some.Thumbs up for the 100A T

Shimano Bantam Chronarch 100
If your referring to the Chronarch 100a ,yes it is a great reel well worth owning.I have 3 of these and use them with almost any technique you can think of. T

Veritas
I was in Cabelas today and picked up a 6'6"MF Veritas just out of curiosity and played with it for a while, this is my impression. First off I am not a fan of Abu rods but this rod is extremely light and crisp for a $99 rod. It handled more like a MHF than a M .but this very well may change once the rod is put under load.It appears to be well made and has SIC guide inserts or so the label said. This is the first lower end rod that has caught my attention in a while,to say the least I was impressed.Just for kicks I would be curious to see how it stacks up to some rods that cost $150+. Obviously handling a rod in a store cannot take the place of actually fishing with it but these are my initial impressions. T

Good gloves for fishing
I have a pair of Shimano neoprene gloves that have the fold back fingers that allow you to expose your fingers when needed that I really like. They are thin and pretty warm.I forgot where I bought these but other companies make them. T

Identification Help
That is a Shimano Bantam 100, this is the first reel Shimano made, around 1985 or so.I have one just like it but I screwed up and put an aftermarket handle on it and chunked the original handle. T

Costa
I have a pair of the Costa Wave Killers in CR-39 that are my fishing glasses..had them for 4 years not 1 scratch on them. Great glasses at a great price. http://www.sunglassesgiant.com/wavekiller.html Also have a pair of Triple Tails in blue mirror glass..also great glasses..BTW The CR-39 are pretty much bullet proof and IMO offer better protection from flying objects when fishing. http://www.sunglassesgiant.com/noname16.html T

Rod building kits?
Been thinking about making my own rod also, I don't think I am going to spend that much on my first build as I'm sure I will make plenty of mistakes. I've been looking at the MHX rod building kits from Mudhole, the blanks have gotten really good reviews from rodbuilders some even comparing them to Loomis IMX however I can't attest to this personally. They don't come with epoxy, rod finish or thread but I have everything but the handle epoxy. Check them out here.. http://www.mudhole.com/MHX T

Epoxy it together ,not like it's going to hurt the sensitivity on a rod of that price. T

Guide Repair?
I just did one on an old Shimano Speedmaster rod that had been in storage.I watched and read these This is the home made rod holder made from a cardboard box , actually works quite well http://www.louisiana-bass-fishing.com/-how-tos-links-271/164-replacing-a-rod-guide.html This is the Mudhole video showing how to wrap a guide http://www.mudhole.com/Rod-Building-101/Videos/Wrapping-Guides This is the Mudhole video of how to apply finish..I put on 1 thin coat and let dry and came back the next day and added a thicker coat ,it is very difficult for me to do it exactly the way this guy does it. Important to mix your 2 parts together until it is clear and use exact amounts of each. http://www.mudhole.com/Rod-Building-101/Videos/Mixing-Applying-Rod-Finish T

Best use for 7' 6" Heavy rod and 6' Medium?
That 7-1/2 footer is a real cue stick according to the weight ranges and would be goood for large swimbaits ,I personally wouldn't use it for anything else.I know others will tell you it would be a good flipping stick but it is not my preference. The 6' spinning rod would make a good rod to skip baits up under docks. Gentlemen (and ladies), I give you.....the Hag's Tornado
Hey Sam , I was perplexed for a long time with the same question. Stretch the worm out by pulling on both ends and the rattle chamber will become apparent. T

Gentlemen (and ladies), I give you.....the Hag's Tornado
I agree with this... both are good , if you want a BIG *** worm with a large profile try the Hags in the 8" size...Huge... T
