  1. Several of my feels have 90-104mm handles as I feel they make the reel feel smoother and give me added torque
  2. I have a crazy cranker on a 765cb glass and it handles those type lures perfectly. While doable with the 705(which I also have), the 765 will do it better.
  3. Tournament speed spool on sale with $30 rebate
  4. 30lb braid for topwaters and 8lb Fc leader for jerkbaits
  5. If you have one rod and you get pleasure from it, more power to you. If I could have one, it would be the champ 734. However, I consider myself pretty common in that I have an average job. I just don't party, smoke, hunt, have kids or a house so I spend my money on my favorite hobby. Therefore I own two of the 734's lol
  6. I have two of them sent to replace a generation 1 that broke. I can say they feel lighter and much more true to their mh rating. My old 7ft mh was a heavy duty frog rod with no issues. The new one has a much softer tip and is much more versatile
  7. I really liked the lexas. They have been overshadowed by the Tatula as of late but I much prefer the palming of the lexa.
  8. The new Daiwa travel look pretty sweet. That's the route I would go
  9. My tuned and upgraded Fuego is one of the smoothest reels I own. Tdz 100m spool, steez star drag, carbontex, clear coat, 4 bearing handle. It's a beast that can do just about anything.
  10. 734 is what I use. Got another on the way lol
  11. As has been echief here. 12-17ln fluoro depending on weight of jig
  12. Retail, I have a dx 745 with a zillion type r on it for which equals roughly $800. I have t3 on a Daiko Karisma stick which retail is about $900 though I didn't nearly pay that much. Expensive toys make the game more fun
  13. 3 chronarch d's and and zillion crazy cranker with Hawgtech handles and to me they make them smoother and and extra leverage when fighting fish. I especially like them on the higher gear ratios because on hard pulling baits it makes them easier to retrieve.
  14. Cost per amount is a toss up between sniper and invizx imo. As you get higher end, shooter and tatsu are the bees knees
  15. Please let's not turn this into a company vs company debate. It's tired and old. I have heard of these issues before with dual braking reels of several brands. My suggestion would be to call lew's.. Evey time I have used their customer service they were quick and efficient and pleasant.
  16. I will say the 734 is my to all around rod. Dobyns heavy action rods are more versatile than most other companies' because the action compensates for the power. I've thrown everyrhing from trigs to spooks and squarebills on mine...amazing rod
  17. I have display reels that I've had custom painted if that counts
  18. New versions are more in line with their rating...the mh is an actual mh
  19. Lew's super duty 8.1:1 or zillion type r baby
  20. All the endurance rods are on clearance at TW which is a sign they are gone. I've read the max 3d is a combo of the Max and endurance blanks
  21. To each their own. Nothing better than trying new gear that's for sure
  22. . Well then look to the super duty which now has an 8.0:1 ratio and is 20 bucks cheaper than the the type R.
  23. They opt to use it because they get paid to use it. Take that into account even with the better grade lines. The one time I used it it was unmanageable. Worst line I have ever used. Huge diameter compared to other lines and springy to the point of un usability
