  1. I have 4 of their handles and had them custom anodize some parts. Great guys and a great product
  2. I was sent 2 of the 7ft mh and they are way more in line with their rating than the old version. I used the old one as a frog rod because it was sooooooo stiff. The new ones are much more versatile
  3. Probably a megabass zonda and a jackall poison glorious hyper wolf. That thing is amazing.
  4. New lews super duty 8.0:1. Can be had for about 160 if you look around. Heavy drag, 95mm power handle, high capacity for lots of big line...all you need for heavy applications
  5. The champion over the mossyback any day. I would go with the 766 for the weights and cover you are fishing
  6. Mine doesn't have techniques on it. It's an all purpose rod
  7. If I remember correctly, the 7'9 was meant as an arig rod hence the higher rating. I have two of the v2 7ftmh and they are way less stiff than the previous generation. To put it in perspective, my old v1 mh was a frogging rod that I used in some heavy cover with no problems. This new verion is great for spinnerbaits and moving single hook baits because it has more flex
  8. I think he was saying you could speed up a slower speed reel by putting a shorter handle on it. Shorter handle means more rotations more quickly ergo more speed. The gear ratio stays the same but the speed of the rotations will go up because your hand has less distance to travel.
  9. I looooooooooove this rod but as was stated, for finesse stuff like shakey heads and weightless plastics. Heck even heavier drop shots but no jigs above 1/4 and trailer. Great rod and more versatile than most would think
  10. Usually squarebills are thrown into heavier cover and require a mh IMO. Can it be done? Sure
  11. Tec spec generation 1 cranking rod can be had for like 25 bucks at dicks if you can find them
  12. So I recently bought a bunch of d/c generation 1 veritas rods to use on the reservoirs here as beater gear. Great deals to begin with. However, one of the guides fell out of my micro 7mh. I called about about sending a replacement guide and they said just fill out a warranty claim. I was called back promptly after my email and the claim handled. I asked for a regular guide version just to help with durability. I come home today (5 business days later) to find TWO brand spanking new generation 2 veritas 7ft mh waiting for me. Abu, you guys do it right. The veritas rods have a rep for breaking but they do take care of you. In other news, these new versions are sweet. The regular guide version feels better balanced and lighter than my micro generation one. The clicking reel seat is awesome and they feel slightly less stiff. Sawweeet
  13. If keith combs and aaron marten can deep crank with high ratios than it can be done. Doesn't mean that's how I wanna do it lol
  14. I got to handle these in dicks and they are fugly and tip heavy. I had a triumph as one of my first higher up rods and it was great. These have short rear handles, square butts which are uncomfortable and feel heavier than the original to me. Like most companies they will have their hiccups but these are a big letdown IMO. Like others have said. Why have 3 groups of rods within 20 bucks of each other?
  15. Mhm if I can. With the 1/4oz I don't mind using a medium
  16. They are Replacing the smallmouth series I believe. A lot of people swear by them. The fenwick aetos is a sweet stick so in sure these rods will be awesome for the price
  17. I have one as a beater rod for shore and reservoir fishing. Clearanced speed spool on so $200 combo for $100 whoo hoo! Lol back on topic. It would def work for jigs and is surprisingly sensitive for the price. It has enough backbone for jogging but enough tip for squarebills and walking baits as well. Great all round rod
  18. I am curious as well, though I was able to secure a 8.0:1 super duty well ahead of their official release date....shhhhhhhhhhhhh
  19. Dobyns glass 765. That thing handles 6xds no problem. For the 10xd, I would go even longer and stronger. 805 or 806 champ
  20. Thank you! Was looking to pick one of these up
  21. Ha! I just bought that rod and it certainly feels more a heavy than a mh. It could probably do the job fine unless you are going into the thickest of thick cover.
  22. Generation 1 veritas rods can be had for that price. The 7'6 is listed as mh but have no worried as it is a heavy action if I have ever felt one. I mean it is quite stout. My dicks sporting goods has them on clearance for $52 and that is a steal
  23. When tackle tour did the review of the skeet reel they mention looking at his rig and seeing the exact rods and reels available for sale. Guys in my club have marshaled for Edwin Evers and they both said he had all pro qualifiers and carbonlite rods on his deck. I think when it comes to rods and reels, they use what they are paid to use. Skeet rods may not be the best but they are more than adequate considering he will get new ones at the drop of a hat should they break. Same with the reels. Lures are a different story IMO. They will use anything that works
  24. No problem man glad to help
