Crankbait Setup
All depends on what you're doing. Are you looking to do more deep cranking or fishing more squarebill/ lipless baits?

Mid 50's Degree Water, Baits?

Am I The Only One That..
I fish, just have to wear a jacket, pick up the swimbait rod and the a-rig and go. Then again it's supposed to rain pretty good this winter in S.Cal so might have to put on my rain gear and deck boots as well. But I'll still be fishing.

Road To The Super Bowl!
All teams get hurt during the year. If anything has been learned watching New England play over the last 10+ years, they always seem to find a piece and play to their best with what they have which at times is better then teams at 100%. Right now there is a bunch of teams that seem to be going through the rebuilding stage and just haven't figured it out yet while others are struggling trying to figure it out. As we all know, anything can happen on any given Sunday, it comes down to what team plays the best. Bottom line, so many teams struggling they become dangerous as they have nothing to loose. But having players go down in the middle of the season depending on the injury have a chance to come back at the end of and be ready for the playoffs, but you have to win to make it to the playoffs. If the New England and Carolina happen to win and clinch their divisions and home field the star players will see limited playing time as so they can be 100% when the playoffs come around where other teams that are all in the middle battling it out for those remaining spots won't. Denver and Cincy will be fighting for that #2 spot and odds are Arizona and Green Bay will be doing the same thing in the NFC. The other remaining spots are so close right now as almost every team is still in the picture except a few.

Best Braid For Baitcasters
I started out fishing 15lb braid on baitcasters and didn't have any issues with digging in (original PP). It has to be put on correctly. Being it was 15lb most of the reel is filled with 12lb mono backing which was on there before and then spooled with the braid. 100yrds of braid is plenty and you won't have any issues with it digging in as long as the backing/mono behind the braid is tight and the braid is spooled on tightly. Most won't fish lighter braid due to handling issues as most wouldn't fish 4lb on a baitcaster where I grew up fishing 6lb on mine as a teen so it wasn't a big deal, 10lb was heavy mono for me.

Road To The Super Bowl!
Hey Glenn, what year did they move from the AFC to the NFC? Was that right about that same time frame?

Road To The Super Bowl!
How about that Carolina team. 11-0. And well we can all agree Romo should have stayed on the sidelines and let his shoulder heal all the way instead of trying to come back early and be a hero, now just on the sidelines and a zero. Have the feeling the NFC will be headed to Carolina for the last game before the Superbowl to meet whomever is victorious coming out of New England. Be a great game though, Carolina vs New England, Newton.....one of the best upcoming QB's against Brady....one of the best.

Bass
First off, read EVERYTHING on here. Great articles and lots of useful info to be put into use to help you get started. It has greatly expanded my views and arsenal. Next, pay attention to the water and everything each day you are on the water. Birds, baitfish, water temp, color, weather(sunny/overcast, wind direction, temp)etc. What you saw and what you didn't. When you caught fish and where and when you didn't. It's all a big puzzle we need to put the pieces together and once you do it will not be so hard. And keep it simple, sometimes we tend to overthink and spin ourselves out. They are hard to catch if you don't know where to look and how to target them.

How Do You Take Care Of Your Reels?
Well as for myself, I keep my reels clean, line guide free of debris and build up, And wiped down so guess that would be before. During: I'm fishing so not thinking about cleaning or wiping them down if they get wet....it's a reel it's going to get wet, just keep it out of the dirt when you're fishing. After, if needed a light rinse (if fished in saltwater) otherwise I may wipe it down. Once a month or so, a drop of oil on the bearings and a light wipe down. Clean the light guide with a Q-tip to clear and clean any build up on it. And lightly grease the worm gear on the level wind as needed. I don't get too carried away and break down the whole reel. If I'm going to get that deep into it or it's got issues, then it's going to the shop for a cleaning/repair of whatever the issue may be. Only reels I will break down are my old Newells and a Penn 4/0 that I've owned for 25+ years.

Original Wiggle Wart
Since you seem to have the inside info, do you know when and where are these Iovino Warts going to be released and be available by chance? Looked around but can't find any info on these.

List Your Five Top Producing Squarebills
They still make Poes? Always had problems getting those to run correct back in the day.

Daiwa Tatula Rod
The Black in a Medium range (I have a 7'3") isn't a very good frog rod or plastics....but excels in spinnerbaits, lighter cranks up to 1/2oz and topwater. I'd opt for the MH. Can't give an opinion in the Tatula rod though.

Mid 50's Degree Water, Baits?
I fish a lot of green pumpkin. Favorite dropshot bait....4" Live Impact. I have others I've fished but these just have the right action and have a great set of colors. Also dropshot the Swing Impacts at times as well. And if needed I'll take a bit of Chartreuse Spike It and dye the very tip end. And the Roboworm's Margarita Mutilator is another that works well in stained waters. Very popular color up on the Sac. Delta.

Mid 50's Degree Water, Baits?
Okay, don't tell the fish I catch they aren't supposed to bite because the water is stained. You may be missing out on something easly overlooked if people around where you fish don't fish a dropshot because the water isn't gin clear. Worked great in the middle of summer in Louisiana behind a buddies house in stained 12" visability. Just saying, might want to rethink and give it a shot. And it works in cooler water just as well.....last time I got to fish ended up with a dozen on the dropshot, 4 on jigs, and one on a swimbait with the water stained and 57. Not 55, but come on I live in S.Cal......55 is about as cold as the water gets sometimes.

Mid 50's Degree Water, Baits?
Well have to switch it up and figure out where to put the dropshot rod now and make it 6....lol

Popular Crank Baits That Are Epic Fails For You
Jerkbaits.....3 years = 1 bass. So yeah, jerkbaits. I can catch them on other things but have a dozen jerkbaits that are in a box I can't catch a fish on. Did I mention I hate jerkbait fishing.

Road To The Super Bowl!
Pats play hurt, beat up, and still manage to figure out a game plan and have the pieces to make it work. Hopefully be back to full strenght by the playoffs and can we say #5. And I will agree.....Eagles do suck and Dallas is in denial. Bills look tough, maybe next year though, they just need more time.

Fluoro Breaking At The Knot?
Never thought of that, but may give it a shot.....thanks Hootie
-
Mid 50's Degree Water, Baits?
I'd add a swimbait (3-6" size) and slow wind that thing back as well as the jig, chatterbait, lippless crank, and spinnerbait. Then you have all your bases covered.

Tying A Skirt Onto A Punch Weight
I had to hand tie some of mine that had the rubber bands as they were sliding off. No wire but 50lb PP seems to hold up pretty well after 10 wraps.....lol I would have preferred wire just didn't have any.

Trial & Tribulations Of Shore Angler
Or find yourself a float tube, I had a couple places I used to use mine. But you're lucky if you can use them in that body of water you're wanting to fish. I want to float tube one of our local ponds but the idea of that HUGE ticket isn't really worth it.

Mossy Farm Pond Trouble...
A dropshot on a cylinder weight fished 12-18" above the weight to keep it out of the moss.
