One Line For All Techniques
I've had power pro 30lb braid and have been fairly happy with it. If I fish clear water then I'll go with a 12lb flouro leader.

Pitching Distance
I agree with all the above statements, what helped me was a bucket tipped on it's side and try to get the bait to the back of the bucket. If you're usually from shore I would practice keeping your arms up a little higher to clear the reeds/brush on the shoreline. In IL during the summer some of the shoreline can get pretty thick and may interfere. Also practice different angles/targets from a single spot. If you're going to be on a boat stand on a bucket.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Took advantage of Saturday and Sunday's beautiful weather to try and get the kayak out a couple of more times. I had not caught a fish out of the kayak until saturday. Caught 4 on Saturday and another 5 on Sunday. All on squarebills. First picture is the first fish from a kayak and the second picture is what happens when squarebill meets kayak...

I Hate When People Write In Cursive...
Not to be a stickler, but in a school environment the teacher is there to guide/show you the subject matter and help you with any questions you have. As agreed her writing is a bit sloppy but nothing is stopping you from asking her to clarify what she had written to you.

Chronarch 150 Ci4+ Reviews
I've had mine for almost an entire season now and have it paired up with a shimano worm and jig rod. I love it so far for jigs and I can throw weightless senkos and flukes with no problem on 30lb braid. I set two brakes on and don't really have to touch the them too often. The weight and size work pretty well and it's too expensive for me not to use all the time.

Jig Fishing Questions
No, you can drag pretty much all of them. That is the beauty of jig fishing. I would recommend contacting Mike over at Siebertoutdoors.com and have him recommend some heads/skirts for your type of fishing. You will not be disappointed.

Jig Fishing From A Kayak
I just got my kayak this weekend and I love fishing a jig as well. I haven't really mastered the kayak positioning yet but I would imagine that an anchor or stake out pole would help you stay in one place while you pick apart a specific piece of structure. All of my rod's are 7'2" and I would think a shorter rod would be a bit easier to control while sitting down. but I think if you did some practicing while sitting down you can get the hang of it.

Happy Birthday Hootie. Nice gifts! Does your wife fish with you?

Should Your Guide Be Fishing?
I think for bass fishing guide trips it would be beneficial for additional rods in the water until a pattern is found. I've never been on a bass fishing guide trip but I wouldn't have a problem with this either.

What Do You Guys Think Of Paper Tournaments?
I have participated in these tournaments and like others have stated sometimes it's the only way to do so. We take a picture of the fish with a token given at the beginning of the tournament, if the pic isn't clear or without the token it doesn't count. So far so good.

Braid For Bank Fisherman
I do the same, most of my spools have 40lb braid. Sometimes the knot slips or breaks. Othertimes I've dragged up very large branches, christmas trees and a pallet.

What's The Best Reel You Have Ever Used?
My Shimano Chronarch Ci4+, best thing is that my wife got it for me. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought such a nice reel for myself.

Straightcast Reel????
Looks kinda cool, the idea is pretty clear. You have the best of both worlds. Might be too complicated and lots of moving parts.

Clear Water Jigs
Clear water I usually try more natural looking things and downsize them. Rage Tail baby craw's and bitsy bugs. I'd also go with the 12lb flouro.

Poor Boy's Erie Darter
I think this topic might be dead, but i'll respond anyway. I just got some and haven't had a chance to use it. People have been drop shotting them or throwing them on a 1/4oz football jig head.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Slonezp, I'll be out there as well but from shore. I'll probably start by the shedd and then maybe head north towards monroe harbor. Or that plan could go out the window and we go south on northerly island. Good luck tomorrow!

Drop Shot Rig
You can fish it from shore. It'll help keep your bait off the bottom as you drag/jig it back to you. As for the weight sinkers that you tie on, yes you can do it that way however the purpose of the drop shot clinch weight is that if you get hung up, the drop shot weight pops off and you get the rest of or your rig back.
