  1. Lake Linganore. One week later than the best Bass fishing day of my life....today I smashed my PB!!! But I will start with this and apologize for so many pics. Only caught three fish in two hours but all three were quality. Fish #1 was just under 20" beating last weeks PB. Fish #2 was 19" but may have been heavier than fish #1. And lastly my new PB. I don't know the exact size because it was much larger than my tackle box. It was almost the same length as both my shoes end to end, maybe a half inch shorter. I measured my shoe when I got home and it was 11 3/4". That makes this fish anywhere from over 22" and under 24". My entire fist fit in his mouth! Truly awesome!!!
  2. Went to the Lake for about 1.5 hrs tonight. Caught 4 with this one here being the largest I have caught this year at just under 19". Had some weight too but I don't have a scale...
  3. Lake Linganore. Best 3 hrs of fishing since fishing Larriland 20 years ago today, however its been about 20 years since I had a full season of Bass fishing. I am really getting hooked on fishing again! Anyways, caught +/- 20 Biggs today and at least 10 of them were 16"-18". Time was between 3pm-6pm all in cover within 10yds of shore. The ONLY weapon I used was a dark blue twin tail grub. Still waiting to land a 5+ lb bass. Here are some pics. My tackle box is 18" accros and 12" wide for reference.
  4. The wife let me out during the worst time of day yesterday, 11am to 2:30pm. Yikes! Still managed 3 fish on Lake Linganore including this guy just under 18". Fished a double sided jig most of the time. Saw multiple 20" fish but I could not get them to bite. One of these days...
  5. I greatly appreciate it! Unfortunetely the rules are strict and every boat on the Lake has to be registered with the Association. I am not sure if I can register boats owned by others or not, but I think it may be worth looking into. I do know it costs $40/year for boat and trailor registration. I may have to sell the golf clubs and get myself a john boat and elec motor!
  6. I live in West Winds which is part of Lake Linganore so I have legal access. Unfortunetly I do not own a boat and am restricted to the shore. I have successfully already scouted everywhere I can access on foot including the other small lakes that are part of Lake Linganore. It seems there are big bass to be found in the lake based on research I have done online but I believe they live in parts that cannot be accessed by foot. I also have a copy of the contours of the lake from a sediment study done a few years ago by the USGS.
  7. Stopped by Middletown Community Park yesterday afternoon for about an hour and half. Only landed one about 16". Another fella landed what looked to be 4lbs on his first cast. I don't think he caught anything after that. I have never fished there but I'm sure that place gets a ton of pressure. Other than that I've been stuck at Lake Linganore landing nothing but 16" or smaller. There are some large Crappie and Sunniesw which make for some entertainment in between. I'm halfway tempted to start fishing for carp as I wouldn't be surprised if the State record was broken at Linganore with some of carp I have seen swim by. My only goal for this year is to beat my PB. Never caught a LM above 4lbs...has anyone here ever fished the lake/pond next to Walmart on Monocacy Blvd. by Walkersville? Anyways, here are some pics. Always nice to look at even if the fish aren't big. Cheers.
  8. Unfortunetely private. My sister-in-law owns a river lot that has a private access boat ramp. No place to walk the shore other than the boat ramp. Edit: My Bro-in-law just emailed me a photo....kinda funny, looks like I snagged it but if you look closely, you can see the rod tip just behind my bald head.I am also looking at it funny because the fish had a nice old scrape/scar on its side.
  9. Decent Weekend here. Saturday morning walked part of the Lake Linganore shore for a couple hours. Landed six but all were around 14"...today I got my first smallie of the year just below the Williamsport Dam West Virginia side. I only fished for about 1/2 hour from a neighberhood boat ramp. Smallie was about 14". Probably been over 10 years since I caught. Love the show!
  10. Lake Linganore. Went out on foot from 4:30 to 6pm this evening. Caught a everything from Bluegill to Crappie from bass. Only landed about 5 LM, but with one large miss. Caught just about everything on a 1 1/2" Blue Minnow Rapala. I was on the shore side of the Indian caves. This was my catch of the day...
  11. Fished Linganore on foot for about an hour and a half today around 3pm. Only caught 1 dink. Spent more time trees than I did the water, haha.
  12. Yep, thanks for correcting me. I apologize for the disinfo.
  13. Have any of you fished Linganore much? I have only gotten out once since buying a house in the LLA, but I had a great time in the short time I was out. My accuracy of casting is horrible! I am really just getting started/back into fishing. I grew up fishing on Linganore, Black Hills, and the Potomac from ages 7 to 15 and now almost 20 years later, I am back. Also fished a lot at a farm called Larryland when it was public. That place was a gem... As I get out more and get to know some of you, I wouldn't mind taking someone along with me being that its private. Access has changed a lot over the past 20 years but I am determined to find new spots until I purchase a boat. On another note, I have heard some incredible stories about the large pond/small lake on Poolesville Golf Course. Stories that legends are made of.
  14. The Potomac will be your best bet for Pike. You may also enjoy catching Snakehead. They make for an excellent dinner...the best fishing for the species you like would be Liberty Reservoir but that will be about an hour drive for you.
  15. I am new here as well. 1st post actually. I just moved into New Market and am a member of Lake Linganore. Here are some pics from my first time fishing at Lake Linganore for about 2 hours. Caught about 8 fish ranging from just under a pound to a little over 3 lbs. My godson also caught a decent fish.
