  1. Good luck Gents! I've been watching these threads even though I am in Maryland. If no one starts a NE thread, I may have to post my pics here, haha. I know I could hang last month as I landed 101" (105" end to end) but with temps cooling with fall approaching I expect to see a lot of you over 100". Cheers! Edit: Looks like Jitterbug will be starting a September thread but I will still be paying close attention to you guys down south.
  2. So who wants to start and lead the September thread? I would be happy to however I'm not a senior BR member and don't get the same reaction as others here. I will get 6 hours of fishing in tomorrow. I start work with a new company Wednesday. I am not too confident about tomorrow with the cold front coming in over night. We'll see, I know I won't be forgetting a fish towel so I can measure any catches. Learned my lesson the other day.
  3. Unfortunately Lake Linganore is private and very strict with its policies. Heck, I even got my car towed and I'm a member. Without a friend or contact, its very hard to "sneak on". I have been in contact with a few BR members here about fishing with me but I haven't been able to bring anyone out yet. Having a wife and kid forces me to be spontanious fisherman!
  4. Shane has the highest total with over a 103". I came in at 101". I think Jitterbug has a better hold of the leaderboard. I am waiting for the September thread now but I don't think I will go at it as hard.
  5. I forgot my towel in my car and was reluctant to put her on the ground to measure. My tackle box is 18" across the top, and I wear a size 11 1/2 shoe. If I were to estimate I would say somewhere around 21 at least. Regardless, if it was 21" and you were to cull one of my 19" it would get me to 103". Still not enough to get past Shane. I am finished for the month and had a blast doing it. Never thought I would be able to pull over 100", especially from the shore. Thanks everyone! Add thanks to OP for starting this thread!
  6. Surprised to see nobody commented on the New Maryland State Record Largemouth Bass. It was 11lbs 6 oz!!! Pic and read at Maryland DNR. http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/fishingreport/
  7. Caught a nice fat 18.5" after work today. Put up nice fight! She hit my senko immediately after casting out 30 yds to a bridge support.
  8. Only caught 3 fish yesterday and they were all fat, hmmmmmmm. Caught them all on 5" watermelon senko.
  9. Good Afternoon Everyone! Let's Cull an 18.5" and add a 19.5". Total 101"
  10. Here is a pic from DNR earlier this year of what someone pulled out of Ling-a-nore. How much you think she weighed. Looks pretty darn close to 10lbs to me. My first fall season of fishing is coming and I can't wait! I need a boat!!!
  11. Darn Private Lakes!!! I got towed at my own private lake the other day. Same rules too, only boats registered to homeowners are allowed on the lake, same goes for trailers I found out. Decided it wasn't worth the risk for any BR members, not like I know how they could tow a truck and trailor. I want out on a boat in Lake Linganore so bad. Just yesterday I heard about a guy who taxedermied not one, but two LM's over 10lbs with one which could have gone for a state record. But then again it's only heresay as there are no pics. I hope you manage to get out on that private lake. If it is as little pressured as mine, I am sure you will find the bite!
  12. SPEEDBEAD, I think you ought to get in next month. That monster you caught earlier this month looked at least 24". Thanks for the input! Everyone else, Please feel free to post your biggest fish in the thread I started last week for the monthly/yearly lunker. Since I have been keeping track of this thread in August I will be happy to count all landed fish in August. Looks like Shane has the lunker so far if he decided to post. Thanks Gents.
  13. Quitting is for quitters, that said, I am over being defensive. Here is a repost of my five fish so you have them. I apologize if I offended anyone. A Humble Total of 100", (Before getting all defensive about where to measure, I was at 103") Fish #1 I am still calling a 23" Fish #2 18.5" Fish #3 19" Fish #4 19" Fish #5 20.5"
  14. Please take me off the list Jitterbug. Thanks! Great Catch Shane!
  15. Well, thanks for being good sport. I don't want to risk injuring the fish so I will not be able to compete until I buy the proper fish rule. All of you please participate in the other comp I started today as that should be fun as well.
  16. Mouth open is the wrong way according to others but I don't mean to be nit-picky.
  17. Unfortunately we do not have live wells or even boats for that matter. Not to mention we all often fish by ourselves, have to somehow hold the fish with one hand while taking a picture with the other. I don't have a boat and I get very upset when I have a "mud fish" by the time I try do get a decent picture. I think some are asking above and beyond mouth closed, symmetrical tail. With the given conditions, it should be end to end (mouth open or closed and to the end of the tail), full picture, as best as you can. Beggers can't be choosers. I'll be darned if I have to keep the fish out of the water, flopping around on ground, longer than I already have too. If we don't take care of the fish, there is no fun competition.
  18. Good Example of an entry: This is a fish I actually caught yesterday. 19" LM, Lake Linganore, New Market, MD Bad Example of an entry: Another Fish I caught yesterday 21 1/8" LM, Lake Linganore, New Market, MD (Could have been longer if the pic didn't cut the tail off) In this case, I will be the judge if the picture will qualify or not and if there is any debate among members the fish will not count.
  19. Edit: Comp started as of today 8/1/2013. This is an honor system so please no old pics!!! All pics in the "Who's In" from August can now count towards the month of August. Rules are simple, longest fish and heaviest wins every month. Prize is respect . Official rules: needed will be a picture of the FULL LM or Smallie next to a ruler of some type. Pics without the full fish or ruler will be disqualified. Measurement will be from the mouth(open or closed) to the end of the visible tail. Please also include the body of water in which the fish was caught. Edit: For those of you with a scale, feel free to post a pic, I will also include weight if you can manage a legible pic. OP will be updated as I have the time. Make sure to keep your ruler with you at all times! Cheers and happy fishing! Hopefully this thread will also serve a photo archive of beautiful fish! 20. Really, others don't even have a picture of a whole fish but you have to single me out? That's fine, I am not going to argure and to be fair to everyone, I'm out. Good luck to everyone else!
  21. Ended up pulling a 21.5", 18.5" and another 18". I put the pictures in the Who's In thread. Funny thing is those are the only fish I caught. Slow but worth it.
