  1. Well, no luck for me lately. Nothing 16" and smaller. Unfortunately I have not gotten out during prime fishing time...Nice catches fellas!
  2. Nice catches Nev, JB. I got out twice this week after work for about an hour each. Nothing over 18" though. Looks like I will get some in next week for a few days.
  3. I have my five total now. Here are the last two. 17.5" 19" Total 21"-19"-18.5"-17.5"-17" @ 93" Hopefully I will cull some fish.
  4. Unfortunately I did not. I do not have a scale yet. If I had to guess I was thinking right around 6 lbs. I was just happy a father and son were near by to snap a picture of me with the fish, haha.
  5. Here is 17" mudder from a quickie on Monday.
  6. Great start. All of you ha some quality fish. Nev, 96" ain't too shabby for the beginning of the year. Bug, awesome total for just smallmouth! I would be happy with that smallmouth number for the entire year, haha. Maine, even if you do live near the biggest fishing secret of the USA, you still gotta know how to catch them. I think it would be tough to do that in any state, especially being a weekend warrior. Great job!
  7. Think 21" is fair for this one. Good for 18.5" here
  8. Funny, I had my best day yet this year! Will post pics later. (Posted in Maryland Who's Who) In! And I promise no drama, haha.
  9. Two nice catches today! Too bad I don't have a scale This one was 22" with a belly! This one went almost 20" Hope your weekend was as good as mine. Cheers!
  10. Good Afternoon fellow fisherman! The wife let me get out for a few hours this morning. It was the first decent day I had this year despite the muddy water. Caught about 10, only 1 dink, the rest going between 16-19". Here is my best today. Going to Williamsburg this week and hope to do some pier fishing at Buckroe Pier. I hope all of you are enjoying holiday weekend!
  11. Unfortunately they are all private. I haven't caught anything over 3lbs in the smaller lakes but they're are plenty of fish. Linganore remains the home for the big girls. One day, I will have a boat...
  12. Enjoy the Comp Fellas! Jitterbug does a great job with this. Taking time out to create some buzz and fun, kudos is highly deserved! Also people like Shane able to donate a prize is why the BR community shines. I wish tight lines among all of you and I hope to check back and see both some great pics and new PB's this spring. God bless!
  13. Anyone have any luck today? I am hoping to get out for a little bit tomorrow...
  14. Stopped by Ben's Branch which feeds Lake Linganore and got my first smallie of the year. The fella I was fishing with pulled out a 17" smallie and also about a 12" Rock Bass. Some of you Frederick Fellas may want to check out Linganore Creek sometime. Public Access and parking on Linganore Road and small walk gets you there.
  15. I had posted this in my MD Who's Who thread but I will get more answers here. Thanks! I need some advice! Went out to Linganore this evening, nothing biting, tried many different lures. Decided to try an old rubber minnow I had that was every bit of 7 years old, LOL. On about the 4th cast it got slammed! Got the fish to shore, and it had some great colors and was very fat and heavy, problem was I was on top of an 8' embankment with no way to lip the fish. Tried to lift it out but my line snapped along with my heart... Soooo, I decided before the season I was going to use 12lb Fluoro. Last year I seemed to catch many more fish on Fluoro rather than braid. I also lost another large fish on Fluoro last year for the exact same reason. My question is which type of line should I use being a shore fisherman? I am pretty sure I am done with Fluoro despite catching more fish, it's just not worth the heartbreak of loosing the big fish... I hope everyone enjoyed they're Easter weekend!

  17. I thought Culler Lake is Baker Park or part of Baker Park?
  18. I need to try Baker Park as well! You guys still ought to try that SWM Pond behind Frisco's off Wedgewood Blvd. Caught this fat 17" today in Pinehurst next to Lake Linganore. Fished for about an hour.
  19. Alright! First Bass of the year out of Lake Linganore. Things are starting to look up and up!
  20. Nate, this is a friendly comp in which we take a picture of measured fish and keep the five largest fish of the month. The comp originated in the Southeast thread. Jitterbug stepped up and started one here for the Northeast. It's been a blast and some great catches have come out of it. Check last month for MaineBass' amazing 5 fish for a total of just over 113"! Hope to see you join in if not this month but when it starts again next year. Congrats on the PB! Is that over 7lbs? I hope to fish the Susquehanna next year. I"ll be happy with a smallie half that size.
  21. Spoke with a friend at church this morning who did a club tourney on Susq river on Saturday. He said the winning bag was just over 16lbs. That's pretty impressive for small mouth. He also had a good day landing two smallies over 4 lbs. Went out to Lake Linganore for a 2 hours today. Tough conditions but I managed one decent fish.
  22. Got out for a little over 2 hours today. 30 MPH winds made conditions tough. Only caught two but one of them was the biggest fish I have landed in two months. 13.5" 19.5" Totals 19.5", 13.5", 13", 13", 13" @ 72"
  23. Caught on a 2" XRap Rapala. I wish I got a better pic with the lure. Thx!
  24. Alright! 5 fish in, LOL. We will call the last one 3". That's my dink of the year! 13",13",13", 12", 3" - Total 54"!
  25. One more cull...decent day of fishing on Sunday. I did miss a 20+ incher. I may get out tomorrow for little bit but its a big maybe. 18", 17.5", 17.5", 17", 17". Total 87".
