  1. I'll extend an invite today to one person who "frequents" this thread. If you would like to fish Lake Linganore today and can meet me in New Market by no later than 4:15pm. I plan on fishing till about 8:30 this evening. The wife and kid are out of town! I only fish the shore and do not have a boat. Again, I can only take one!
  2. Security towed my car at my lake today. I was parked in boat trailer parking only. Funny thing is there was no where else to park and no trucks with trailers parked where I parked. Guess the rent-a-cops had nothing better to do..... No culling today! I will get some time to fish later this week but that is right after a cold front moves through. One-hundred inches is beginning to look harder and harder! I'm glad you fellas enjoyed your weekend. I gotta somehow figure out how to get this $175 tow job past my wife, haha.
  3. So Linganore is going to be really high tomorrow morning. Any other bodies of water someone can recommend that is friendly to shore fisherman? Maybe one that didn't get all the rain. Black Hills might be OK but I don't know anything about it. Anyone familiar with Rainbow lake or Greenbrier? I would like have line in the water by 6:30am.
  4. I am convinced that there are large Muskie still living in Lake Linganore from the stocking in 2005 of 18,500 fingerling. I know its a stretch but today I was under the bridge, cast out next to structure. My grub fell maybe 3' before the line started to run left to right. I reeled my line in tight before setting the hook, and boom, the line was clean cut. No Frey, just a clean cut. Being a noob I am not sure what this was. Pickeral are no longer in the lake. Nobody has ever caught any Snakehead. I did manage two 19" bass today. Pics are the "Who's In" thread. I've managed 5 fish for a total of 96.5" in just a week. Not bad, but I credit Lake Linganore before the man behind the rod, haha.
  5. Good Evening Gents! Beat my PB after work today. Here are some pics. Lake Linganore, t-rigged green w/black flakes, 6' of water and 10 yds from shore.
  6. That's good to know. I wish DNR would throw some more Muskies in Lake Linganore as the Carp issue is out of control once again. They usually publish info listing what has been stocked and where seperate from the yearly fishing guide.
  7. Looks like my mistake, took the article date. Upon a second search the latest stocking of Tiger Muskie was 2006 which would make for some very large muskies on their death bed... http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/fishingreport/fishingrptarchive/frarchives2006/0913freshwater.asp
  8. Right now I am using 12lb. Yo-Zuri Fluorocarbon/Nylon hybrid. The majority of the time I flip and pitch grubs and 7" worms. I rarely fish topwater with the exception of a spinnerbait or buzzbait here and there... The problem I had was just lifting the weight of the fish out of the water without my line snapping. I am still upset from losing this fish after bringing it in and watching it jump out of the water a few times just to lose it by lIfting it out of the water. It was the only choice I had...
  9. A quick internet search gave me info it was last stocked with Tiger Muskie in 2010. I actually researched these fish for Lake Linganore after seeing it was stocked with Tigers in 2005. Depending on the environment, Tigers can live up to 8 years. I would think 3 years after stocking, the muskies of Black HIlls are probably at a nice size.
  10. Missed a gigantic LM today. I think it was larger than the one I caught two weeks ago. I didn't have a net and couldn't reach out enough to pull it out by hand. Tried to lift it out with just the rod and SNAP goes the line. Wish I wasn't such a donkey, guess I will be switching to braided. Any other advice is appreciated.I am going to lose sleep over this one...
  11. LOL! The lake would be happy to have you. I am not going to lie I am a little jelly of the fisherman using the smaller pontoon that have the adjustable overhead awning. However, if I had one I would likely drink too much while out fishing and tie up on somebody else's dock when said and done.Question... would you consider 10-15 boats fishing a 300 acre lake on a Saturday heavily fished or not? I don't see many shore fisherman. Maybe another 10-15 shore men on a Saturday. How does this compare to say, Black hills?
  12. Guess the bite is slow for everyone this week? I finally got out on Linganore again today for about 3 hours. Caught only 3 fish ranging from about pound to three pounds. Water is very clear and the bite is hard to find. The catches were completely random.
  13. Can't get over the fact my looks small in the pic. It doesn't do the fish justice so I took these today to get a better idea.
