  1. Okay, I've taken the MH class, & have since built a couple of kits where I didn't have to pick out anything. I'm comfortable enough to build my first "custom" to me rod. But I am confused about reel seats. With the kits, I just built up arbors to attach the reel seat. But I want a nicer Alps reel seat and I see 15 different sizes. I assume, but want to be sure that I measure the diameter of the blank at the area where I will put the seat. Then do I order slightly larger to account for the adhesive or get it as close as I can? Or am I missing something else altogether? Thanks for keeping me from screwing up lol!

  3. There are some G lens for less than $100.00! https://www.steepandcheap.com/sunglasses?p=gender%3Amale&fl=true
  4. As stated, the Hudds and Trash Fish are great in the colder water months. Also look at the Smash-Tech Convict. Reel as slow as you think you can, then slow down some more...
  5. Should be a nice combo.
  6. Dark Sleeper, Vatalion, Magdraft Freestyle
  7. Get on the North Fork Composite's email list. Twice in the last 2 months I have bought Loomis designed blanks for $35 & $55. Right now use code "MADEINUSA" for a huge discount - some blanks were 60% off using the code.
  8. Siebert's Morel jig head with the Owner hook. https://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Morel-Jig-Head-1022.htm

This blue/core shot worm from KC Injection Baits has been my best color since he started making it - although the red/black core shot has been good also.
  10. Ken at KC Injection baits can make them in any color/glitter/scent you want. Quick turnaround also. https://kcinjectionbaits.com/store/page17.html
  11. Weightless rigged backwards. Killer on docks and laydowns.
  12. Absolutely great baits. Unfortunately, the action has a lot to do with the plastic and durability is an issue. Think the Senko of swimbaits. The tips Fried Lemons posted above are musts. One additional thing I do is after I screw in the Owner Beast hook, I unscrew it, squirt some Mend-it into the hole and then reinsert the screwlock. It molds the plastic around the screw making it a little bit tougher. Definitely get on the mailing list if you want one. Set your alarm five minutes before the drop and have your cursor on the bait you want. The drop last week was gone in 7 minutes lol, but I did get a couple of colors.

I just got an email from Enigma Fishing that the new tariffs will result in a price increase of up to 30% on their rods and reels. The suggestion was to buy before 10/1 to save the increase. Has anybody else heard of any other increases due to the new tariffs?
  14. No offense taken. I do not own one - just remember seeing it on TW and forwarded the info. Thanks for the heads-up!

  16. This bait was posted here a couple of years ago. Works great on the outside edges and any lanes you may have.
  17. Back in stock at the same price - only 9 left when I checked. https://www.steepandcheap.com/costa-luke-polarized-sunglasses-580-glass-lens?skid=CDM006G-TRGNMIS580G-ONESIZ&ti=UExQIENhdDpTdW5nbGFzc2VzOjE6MTc6c2FjQ2F0MTMxMDAwMDcy
  18. Agree with the hooks being a little dull. I lost a lot of fish before I started sharpening. You would think (as I did) with Megabass' usual quality, the hooks would be better.
  19. Agree. A 4 1/2" worm or here in Texas a 4" Zoom lizard in Chartreuse Black Flake on a split shot rig has saved many a day. Although it will and does catch quality fish (like the Ned), a lot of guys I fish with call this their "limit finder" when fishing tournaments. Then they go for that kicker.
  20. 580G Green Mirror for less than $90.00! Won't last long... https://www.steepandcheap.com/costa-luke-polarized-sunglasses-580-glass-lens?skid=CDM006G-TRGNMIS580G-ONESIZ&ti=UExQIENhdDpTdW5nbGFzc2VzOjE6MzpzYWNDYXQxMzEwMDAwNzI=
  21. This one for regular sized Ned baits: https://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Morel-Jig-Head-1022.htm This one for bigger Ned baits: https://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Morel-XL-Jig-Head-1024.htm
  22. I use one of the swivel top drop shot weights. Twist it a couple of turns & crimp it tight. With the wire not on the bottom, I pick up less junk.
  23. A small manufacturer in N. Texas makes these 10". They have been $ for me this summer.
