  1. Traveling for work, I stopped in to the DSG in N. Little Rock. In the BASEBALL section, they had a clearance rack of Berkley Powerbaits and Max Scents. Buy 5 - get 5 free. $28.00 for 10 bags of Max Scents!
  2. I don't have a pic, but I built a rectangle of flat 2 X 4's that is 2' X 4'. I screwed about 20 3" PVC pipe caps evenly around the rectangle. Then I inserted 3" PVC pipe pieces from 4" to 6" long into the caps. My rods stand up inside the PVC. I don't own 20 rods but I have space and could have easily put the caps a little closer together to probably store 24 or more. I plan on adding some casters to make moving it easier if I want to and to add a spooling station to a frame on one side & one for line storage on the other.

Not really red (redish orange), but the Zoom Trick Worm in Merthiolate has produced for me for years. Deadly in the Spring, then I might as well put it up until the dog days of Summer. Then it gets hammered again.
  4. These are on sale - very good rods for the $ and they have 6 footers in different actions. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/berkley-rods-casting-rods-berkley-series-one/berkley-series-one-casting/1405230.html#sz=16&start=20
  5. These from KC Injection Baits. The 10 " Fluorescent Red/Black Vein has been getting choked on a big shakey head.
  6. On all of my S-Wavers, I double the split rings as you suggest with Owner Hyper-Wire. I also upgrade the hooks to the Owner Zo-wire. I would not downsize the hooks - especially if there are trophy walleye and I suspect some big bass also.
  7. Cut 3 inches off of the head of the 12 & use it as a Ned bait.
  8. It looks like all rods are 25% off now!
  9. Just picked up the Perfect Pitch. As has been said, it is an exceptional rod for the money. I need an XXH swimbait rod & the Leviathan will be next.
  10. Yep - I've been fishing it out of the box and have not sprung for the tail yet. They are $33.00 ?
  11. Same bait for me. It gets hammered on Fork. I paid $90 also but I see them now for $130+ !!!
  12. Lure Lock with the same brand "Locker".
  13. I just use a 5 oz pyramid sinker with 2 big snap swivels - one to attach an old marker buoy line & the other to hook around your line. 5 oz sliding down your line usually knocks the bait loose on the first drop. When your done, just wind it around the buoy.
  14. Light wire - close to the surface. Regular wire - subsurface.
  15. I think BPS still sells the Tiger Elite rods.
  16. Dark Sleeper - slow roll on the bottom or fish it like a jig (I usually do both on a long cast).
  17. I'm sold. I probably get 10% or more casting distance. Plus you can really tell the difference when fighting a hard pulling fish with the torque reduction. I am about to sell a bunch of my rods and replace them with Spiralites.
  18. iRod Genesis II Fred's Magic Stick, Spiralite Maverick 8'HF
  19. Works great for the lures you mentioned. The Spiralite is very versatile - I also use it for heavy flipping, punching and to frog as well.
  20. I have owned both and they are good rods for the money. That being said, I had to warranty the Dobyns twice. After the 2nd time I was done and sold it. The iRod is still doing work. To add another option, I have a Spiralite Maverick 8' HF that has become my fav swimbait rod and it's only $119.00.
  21. Also, Ken at KC Injection Baits makes a nice skirt that you custom order color, glitter, salt/no salt and scent choice. It's full sized so I trim to fit my application. https://kcinjectionbaits.com/store/page17.html
