Anyonetry the "Chicken Rig"?
Take a short piece of 40# mono from the WM bargain bin & after rigging, thread it through the hook eye. You can squeeze the worm to figure out where it is after rigging. Trim it flush on both sides of the worm. It stopped the problem on this rig for me.

Big TRD
Same here. The regular Ned is way more effective for #'s of bites, but with no less bigger fish IME.

Huddleston baits
They are good baits, but for me here in Texas they are definitely more productive in cold water. The 68 Special is a phenomenal bait during those times. The smaller, Weedless Shads work pretty much year round. Overall, I prefer the Smash-Tech Convict. You can rig it weedless & I can buy 4 for the price of 1 Hudd. Or better yet is the new Smash-Tech Gizzard Shad - sweet geebus! http://87fb9828-9ade-11e4-b274-14feb5d40a06.onlinestore.godaddy.com/products/gizzard-shad-7-inch-weedless http://87fb9828-9ade-11e4-b274-14feb5d40a06.onlinestore.godaddy.com/products/convict

The latest sale thread
For you swimbait guys, Outlet Bait & Tackle has some BIG baits by Throwback Fishing Lures. Obvious they were copying the MS Slammer & the wood Lunker Punker - all less than $20.00 each. I was surprised when I received them. They came in a very nice heavy display box with a die cut insert for the bait plus a spare tail. Finish is very nice & hooks are VERY sharp. The Slammer style bait has the wrong pic but it is the more expensive one. http://www.overstockbait.com/searchresults.asp?Search=Throwback&Submit=Submit Just checked - prices have been lowered for the 4th Sale.

What's your fluke technique?
If baitfish are active, try burning across the surface like it's fleeing. Then about every 10 cranks stop & let it fall like an injured/dying easy meal. Repeat back to the boat.

Best swimbait for beginner big swimbait fisherman
The Convict is getting hammered on Fork right now - actually it's been a great bait since the spawn. The Hudds are great baits but I can get 4 Convicts for the price of 1 Hudd. Try it with the 10/0 Beast Flashy Swimmer! Also look at Smash Tech's new Gizzard Shad - sweet Geebus!!

What's the deal with Okuma

GP, Watermelon Red Flake, Bama Magic, Morning Dawn & for some reason I can't explain Bumble Bee Swirl. I got schooled twice from my back seat partner throwing this behind me. Not any more!- Glide bait retrieves
You have to experiment a little. I like a handle turn/pause/handle turn. If no bite or I have followers, I give it a quick, 2 crank spurt. Then repeat the turn/pause/turn. Now that being said, it has been amazing how many bites I get when I think I made a bad cast & I am cranking it in like crazy. But still, the majority of my bites come on the pause or first movement after.- Orra Winch for big swimbaits?
I picked one up when Abu Garcia blew them out for pennies last month as a back-up swimbait reel. I took it out just to dial it in & see what it could handle. No problem throwing the weights you are asking about. The extra line capacity & the oversize handle make for a nice small swimbait reel.- Zoom trick worm vs super salt for waky rig
Let the fish tell you. The salted worms will fall slightly faster. Sometimes this slight change triggers the bite.- Best Line Spooling Station ?
I built one using scrap wood I had laying around. 8" wide X 48" tall 3/4" plywood, some scrap 2" X 4" for the stand/base. I drilled 6 holes centered in a vertical line about 6" apart. I inserted 6" threaded bolts. I put a rubber washer on first, then the line spool, another rubber washer, then a wing nut. The rubber washers let me adjust the spool tension with the wing nut. With this set up I can have 6 different spools that stay attached. The 6" bolts let me use bulk line spools. Turn it sideways for baitcasters, facing you for spinning reels.- Where To Throw Big Swimbaits?
This is true. But you will also catch the opposite - smaller bass on the big bait. But what I like most is that throwing the big bait will show you WHERE the big girls are - you will get a lot of followers that you can keep trying to entice with different swimbaits/retrieves or come back later with conventional baits.
